    • A single sheet of paper is divided into at least original and copy panels by fold line(s). Information entered on the two, front and back surfaces of the original panel are reproduced on the two surfaces of the copy panel by carbonless copy treatments. In one embodiment, the original panel is fully coated or partially coated with carbonless CB treatment, on both surfaces, and the copy panel is fully coated or partially coated with carbonless CF treatment. In a variation of this embodiment, the original panel is not coated, and the copy panel is coated in selected areas with carbonless SC treatment. In a second embodiment, the original panel is not coated, an image-transferring panel is fully coated on both surfaces with carbonless CB treatment, and the copy panel is fully coated with carbonless CF treatment. In a variation of this embodiment, the image-transferring panel is formed of a separate sheet of paper. In a third embodiment, the original panel is coated on both sides with a carbonless CB treatment from a first carbonless system, a first copy panel is coated with a carbonless CF treatment from the first carbonless system and with a carbonless CB treatment from a second carbonless system, and a second copy panel is coated with a carbonless CF treatment from the second carbonless system. In a variation of this embodiment, the original panel is simply an iamge-transferring panel, and a separate panel clear of carbonless coating is employed.

    • The carbonless copy form of this invention reproduces information written or printed on both the front and back surfaces of an "original" page onto the two (front and back) surfaces of a "copy" page. In one embodiment, the form is formed of a single sheet of paper comprising a clear (uncoated) original page and a copy pages coated with carbonless CF treatment on both sides. A separate intermediate sheet, coated with carbonless CB treatment on at least one side is interposed between the folded and refolded original copy pages to effect reproduction of information entered on the front and back surfaces of the original page onto the back and front surfaces, respectively, of the copy page. In other embodiments, the original, copy and intermediate pages are formed from a single sheet of paper. The original page is clear, the copy page is CF-coated on both sides and the intermediate page is CB-coated on both sides. Various positionings and foldings of the original, copy and intermediate pages are disclosed for effecting reproduction of information entered on both sides of the original page onto both sides of the copy page. Methods of using the carbonless forms are disclosed.

The conversion apparatus is easily assembled and disassembled from a standard lever operated postage meter. Each lever of the meter is operated in a sequential manner.     • A double break-off screw fastener is described, which conceals its mode of fastening by means of a "dummy" free-floating middle shaft. The inventive screw contains three sections, a threaded section which does the actual fastening; a middle shaft section which helps to internally fasten the threaded section before breaking-off; and an outer head section which breaks from the middle shaft, thus leaving the middle shaft in a free-floating state. To the outer observer, the middle shaft is free turning giving the impression of a fastening screw. In reality, however, it is nothing more than a dummy member, which carefully conceals the well hidden internal screw thread.

    • Improvements to self-replicating duplex forms are disclosed. Generally, a single sheet of paper is divided into original and copy panels by fold line, and carbonless coatings are applied to the panels so that information entered on the two, front and back surfaces of the original panel are reproduced on the two surfaces of the copy panel.(Group 1) An endorsable carbonless CB coating is applied to the original panel, either at the mill or on-press. A carbonless CF coating is applied to the copy panel so that the coated copy panel is substantially the same thickness as the coated original panel. Specific areas for filling out information on the original panel are offset, from front-to-back, and methods of checking this offset are disclosed. The copy panel is tinted a dissimilar base color from the original panel.(Group 2) The original and copy panels can be formed separately, and joined into a single "virtual" sheet.(Group 3) The original and copy panels can be formed of a single sheet of CF C2S paper stock. A separate, intermediate transfer panel having a CB-coated surface is interposed between the original and copy panels to effect two-sided reproduction.(Group 4) The form can be of laminated construction of off-the-shelf carbonless paper stock to obtain the coating arrangements of the various configurations.
