    • The exemplary embodiment of present invention provides a sampling device and method in a wireless communication system that is capable of precisely measuring a distance by combining data blocks passing through at least two delay paths and performing sampling thereon.To this end, the sampling device includes: a delayer that delays received signals in a block unit; a delay path selector that selects any one of a plurality of delay paths to control the delayer to apply the selected delay path to each block; a sampler that performs sampling for each block delayed by the delayer; a signal processor that combines at least two sampling blocks sampled by the sampler; and a timing tracker that tracks reception timing of the combined signal, wherein the delayer includes at least two selectable delay paths.

    • Provided is a range measurement apparatus and method based on chaotic ultra wideband (UWB) wireless communication. The apparatus includes a chaotic signal generating/modulating unit for generating/modulating chaotic signals and outputting them to a transceiving unit; a transceiver for transceiving radio signals; a detector for detecting the radio signals in forms of voltage signals; a transformer for sampling the analog voltage signals and outputting first digital signals of a predetermined level; a comparator for comparing levels of the analog voltage signals with a threshold value and outputting second digital signals; and a range measurement unit for calculating a leading edge, which is a moment when initial data of a packet payload arrive, by using the binary signals from transformation of the first digital signals based on the threshold and the second digital signals, and performing range measurement based on the leading edge. This research is applied to chaotic UWB wireless communication.

    • A digital data file encryption apparatus and method, where a digital data server identifies the user and supplies an encrypted digital data file to the user in accordance with the identified result. A personal computer decrypts the encrypted digital data file supplied from the digital data server and reproduces the decrypted digital data file or re-encrypts it using an encryption key. The encryption key is generated on the basis of an identification number of a data storage medium or digital data playing device. A digital data playing device stores the re-encrypted digital data file downloaded from the personal computer in the data storage medium and decrypts the stored digital data file using the encryption key to reproduce it. A first internal key is added to the identification number to convert the identification number into the encryption key, which is then encrypted according to an encryption algorithm based on a second internal key. The digital data file is the encrypted using the encrypted encryption key.
