    • Certain example embodiments of this invention relate to internal grid keepers for insulating glass units, and/or insulating glass units incorporating the same. The grid keepers of certain example embodiments may include a shoulder bent into an acute angle and may include one or more stamped features on or proximate to the shoulder for engaging with a punched, hollowed, or otherwise formed feature in an edge seal, along with one or more stamped features on an elongate portion extending from the shoulder for engaging with a grid or muntin. In certain example embodiments, the keeper may be on level with or slightly lower than a primary seal so as to reduce the likelihood of the keeper interfering with the seal.

    • Methods for manufacturing modular leashes are disclosed. The modular leashes may comprise a flexible portion including a lead end and a handle portion. Manufacturing the flexible portion may comprise heating a pin and securing the pin to a lead end, so as to melt the lead to the pin using ambient heat from the pin. In some embodiments, heating the pin uses induction heating. Manufacturing the flexible portion may further comprise inserting the lead end into a sleeve, and securing the lead to the sleeve by crimping the sleeve onto the lead. Manufacturing the handle portion may comprise inserting handle ends into a first end of a sleeve and inserting a fastener into the handle ends. Manufacturing the handle portion may further comprise inserting a fitting into a second end of the sleeve so that a space between the sleeve and the fitting may receive the handle ends.

    • An example dock leveler disclosed herein includes a deck and a lip structure translatable relative to the deck. A frame is disposed within a pit underneath the deck and includes a deck-supporting surface. A deck-supporting foot extends from the lip structure to engage the deck-supporting surface. A weather shield has a lower end and an upper end, the lower end of the weather shield coupled to at least one of the frame and a wall of the pit, the upper end of the weather shield is carried by the lip structure, the lower end of the weather shield is positioned forward of the deck-supporting foot when the deck is in a cross-traffic position while the lip structure is in a retracted position, and the deck-supporting foot is positioned forward of the lower end of the weather shield when the lip structure is in an extended position.
