    • A power strip includes a power cord and a plastic casing mounted onto one end of the power cord. A plurality of outlets are disposed in the casing in a side-by-side relationship. A ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) is disposed in the casing and electrically connects the power cord to each of the plurality of outlets. The GFCI is self-contained and modular in form and comprises an outlet-free housing and GFCI circuitry disposed within the outlet-free housing. The GFCI circuitry includes an indicator light, a test button and a reset button which fittingly protrude through corresponding openings formed in both the outlet-free housing and the insulated casing. In use, power cord delivers current to each of the plurality of outlets. However, GFCI serves to interrupt the flow of current from the power cord to each of the plurality of outlets upon detecting a ground fault condition in the power cord.

    • An in line switch device (1) includes a switch housing (3, 4) providing a switch component chamber. A switch actuator (8, 9) is operable from the exterior of the switch housing (3, 4). At least two sets of switch terminals (17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22) are accessible from the exterior of the switch component chamber and are covered by a removable closure or respective removable closures (26, 27). The removable closure(s) has two cable apertures (28) for passage of respective power cables to be connected to respective sets of switch terminals (17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22). A first sealing device (29, 30) is associated with each cable aperture (28) for sealing around the associated power cable. The removable closure(s) (26, 27) are engaged with the switch housing (3, 4) with one or more second sealing devices (14, 15) provided at the interface between the or each removable closure (26, 27) and the housing (3, 4). The switch (3, 4) is sealed, at least externally of the closure(s) (26, 27) to protect against the ingress of moisture into the switch component chamber.

    • A two channel universal device for advanced protection from a short circuit current which evaluates a rate-of-change of current in a supply feeder and compares the current in the supply feeder and the current in load phases generating a differential signal in such a way that in normal conditions, when the load is running or starting, the differential signal is virtually zero. The differential signal and the rate-of-change of current in the supply feeder are compared with the settings of the protective device. If both the value of the rate-of-change of current and the value of the differential signal simultaneously exceed their settings, after an adjustable time delay, the device produces a signal to open the circuit. The existence of two conditions necessary to initiate the trip signal to cause the circuit to open ensures the reliable operation of this device and provides a feasible fast protection scheme.
