摘要： A self-contained heated wax treatment apparatus includes an outer shell and a rack disposed inside the outer shell. The rack includes a receptacle holder and at least one heater holder. At least a first receptacle is mounted to the receptacle holder of the rack. The first receptacle contains a heat activated substance. A heater is mounted to the heater holder of the rack in thermal conductive contact with the first receptacle. Activation of the heater causes heat to flow to the first receptacle and activate the heat activated substance inside the receptacle.

The precursors are held within the interior space of a kiln and heated in a reducing gas. The precursors are held so that the reducing gas is able to fully envelop them. In a preferred embodiment, the precursors are hung from a support within the kiln. The temperature of the kiln is also controlled to limit the initial heating of the kiln and to maintain the kiln within a predetermined range of operating temperatures.

The assemblies include carriers and sample processing devices with process arrays that include conduits useful in distributing sample materials to a group pf process chambers located in fluid communication with the main conduits. The sample processing devices may include one or more of the following features in various combinations: deformable seals, process chambers connected to the main conduit by feeder conduits exiting the main conduit at offset locations, U-shaped loading chambers, and a combination of melt bonded and adhesively bonded areas. The carriers may be used to apply selective compression to the sample processing devices.

摘要： A heat concentrating device particular useful for firing objects formed of metal clay includes a preferably frusto-conical body with a hollow interior surrounded by a continuous sidewall, a wide lower end or base, a relatively narrow upper end, a support screen disposed across the upper end for supporting objects to be fired, and an aperture adjacent the upper end for insertion of a temperature sensor connected to a pyrometer assembly for monitoring the temperature at the upper end of the body. The device is placed over a stove burner to capture the heat emitted by the burner in the interior of the body and concentrate the heat at the upper end of the body so as to heat objects placed on the support screen to a suitable firing temperature.
