    • A fuel injection device has a two-way control valve driven by a two-position actuator. The control valve directly controls oil pressure in a back pressure chamber to control an injection operation of an injection nozzle. A two-position three-way flow passage switching valve operated by control pressure of the control valve selectively connects a control chamber of a pressure intensifier with a fuel supply passage leading to a pressure accumulator or a pressure release passage leading to a low-pressure system to indirectly control oil pressure in the control chamber. The flow passage switching valve starts a pressure intensifying operation in retard of the injection operation. When pressure is supplied to the control chamber, stoppage of the pressure intensification operation and returning operation of the pressure intensifier do not lag behind the injection operation.

    • The invention relates to a device for injecting fuel into the combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine. A control unit (1) is provided, which contains a housing chamber (4) that is continuously acted on with highly pressurized fuel by means of an inlet from a reservoir (common rail). The highly pressurized fuel is continuously present in the control chamber (6) of a control valve body (5) by means of an inlet throttle (7), wherein the control valve body (5) opens or closes a nozzle inlet (14) to an injection nozzle. The housing chamber (4) of the control unit (1) contains a thrust transmitting member (21) that delimits the control chamber (6), and the thrust transmitting member (21) is supported with a flat face (23) against the housing (2) and contains an outlet throttle (28) that pressure-relieves the control chamber (6) and can be opened by means of a servo valve (24).

    • Disclosed is a common-rail fuel injection system which regulates an amount of fuel delivered at every plunger in a high-pressure fuel-supply pump, thereby enabling to control an actual common-rail pressure restored at every fuel delivery forced by the plunger so as to come in matching a desired common-rail pressure. A fundamental desired amount of fuel delivered is found dependent on the desired common-rail pressure derived from the engine operating conditions. A correction amount of fuel delivered is calculated at every plunger on the basis of a deviation in the common-rail pressure, which is derived from the actual common-rail pressure restored with the fuel delivery and sensed at every fuel delivery. Each plunger delivers under pressure an ultimate amount of fuel that is compensated with the correction amount of fuel delivered, thereby making the common-rail pressure coincide with the desired common-rail pressure.
