摘要： A process for laundering, sorting and delivering garments is enhanced by incorporating a Radio Frequency IDentification (RFID) tag into each garment. An RFID reader antenna includes left and right interleaved parallel and vertically aligned pluralities of generally orthogonal ferrite horseshoes to shape the sensing magnetic fields. The span of coverage along with the non-aligned magnetic fields ensure that RFID tag is read even regardless of orientation. Accurate detection facilitates tracking of garments during laundering, repair, replacement, sorting, etc.

Advantageously, a system and method according to the present invention is interactive in providing users with, e.g., the option to select from, as well as input, various folding arrangements and techniques.

摘要： There is provided an apparatus and methods for separating an article of laundry from a bundle of articles. The bundle is located in a truck which is clamped into a carriage by means of clamping arm or attached to guide rails. The truck is moved by suitable drive means in a controlled manner beneath a grip device which is movable into and out of the truck. The grip device is mounted on a carriage which is movable upwards relative to a frame by means of a winch and downwards by gravity. The grip device picks the article from the bundle using a dual clamp structure and lifts the article up past an adjacent conveyor which is mounted so as to oscillate about a roller. An air jet means is also provided to blow the article into a nip defined between the conveyor belt and a spring loaded nip roller. Sensors are provided for sensing overload conditions for the conveyor and the grip device.

摘要： There is provided an apparatus and methods for separating an article of laundry from a bundle of articles. 摘要： A structure generates electromagnetic radiation having at least one wavelength selected for activating a photo-sensitive substance that is applied to a tissue to be treated. The structure is particularly useful for photo-dynamic therapy (PDT) applications. The structure includes a body of material, such as a polymer filament, band, or substrate, that contains a gain medium. The gain medium in turn contains a substance (such as dye molecules) for generating a stimulated emission that includes the at least one wavelength when excited by a pump wavelength, and a plurality of scattering sites (such as scattering particles) for scattering the stimulated emission to provide a narrow band emission at the at least one selected wavelength. The narrow band emission in turn activates the photo-sensitive therapeutic substance.

The method includes the steps of (a) providing individual ones of objects within a predetermined class of objects with a gain medium comprised of an electromagnetic radiation emitting and amplifying first phase and an electromagnetic radiation scattering second phase, the gain medium being responsive to electromagnetic radiation having a first wavelength for emitting electromagnetic radiation with wavelengths within a predetermined band of wavelengths; (b) irradiating the objects with the first wavelength; (c) detecting an emission from the irradiated objects, the emission including one or more second wavelengths that are within the predetermined band of wavelengths; and (d) identifying an object as belonging to a predetermined class of objects from the detected emission. Also disclosed is a method for detecting the presence of a structure within an object, which also employs the gain medium and the step of irradiating.
