摘要： An apparatus for recovering bulkiness of a nonwoven fabric by blowing hot air and heating the nonwoven fabric transferred in a transfer direction, includes a case member that has both end portions in the transfer direction opened; an entrance and an exit provided to openings on opposite end sides, in the transfer direction, of the case member to transfer the nonwoven fabric; and a blast opening provided on the entrance side of the case member for blasting hot air inside the case member toward the exit. Inside the case member, a sectional area at a first position downstream of the blast opening is wider than at a second position located between the blast opening and the first position. Hot air blasted from the blast opening flows downstream through the first and second positions while coming into contact with one of two faces of the nonwoven fabric inside the case member.

The method uses heat and pressure to enhance the ability of the fabric to reduce thermal transfer therethrough while preserving overall hand, feel and appearance of the fabrics allowing even sheer fabric window treatments to provide enhanced energy efficiency. The fabric, preferably containing a polymeric component such as polyester or the like, is subjected to pressure and increased temperature to create a material fusion that resists thermal transfer as compared to the unprocessed fabric itself.

摘要： A method for making a zoned apertured nonwoven web comprises providing an unapertured nonwoven web having a first plurality of weakened locations in a first pattern in a first zone and a second plurality of weakened locations in a second pattern in a second zone. The method comprises applying a substantially cross machine directional tensioning force to the nonwoven web to cause the nonwoven web to rupture at some of the first and second pluralities of weakened locations. The applying step creates a plurality of first apertures in the nonwoven web coincident with the some of the first plurality of weakened locations and a plurality of second apertures in the nonwoven web coincident with the some of the second plurality of weakened locations. The cross machine directional width of the nonwoven web after the applying step is substantially the same in the first zone and the second zone.
