摘要： A method for controlling a physical property of a collapsed blown film extruded form a ring-shaped extruder having a plurality of physical property controllers disposed around the extruder includes the following steps. First, an even number of longitudinal sections of the blown film are identified. Next, the physical property profile is measured a first time across the entire width of the collapsed film. Because the longitudinal sections at the ends of the collapsed film overlap themselves, the physical property of these two longitudinal sections is determined by dividing the measured value by two. The film is then rotated, and the physical property profile is measured a second time. Again, the physical property of the longitudinal sections at the ends of the rotated film are determined by dividing their measured value by two. Then the physical properties of the remaining longitudinal sections are determined by subtracting the physical property value of a longitudinal section which has been previously determined from a measured value from either the first or second physical property profile.

The cable includes at least one conductor core and at least one coating of plastic material and incorporates a lubricating material on the exterior coating. The equipment for the manufacturing of the electrical cable includes a reel for supplying a conductor wire to an extruding head, which is connected to tanks containing plastic materials for coating the conducting wire, a reel for taking up the cable, and a device for the application of a lubricating material onto the surface of the cable.

摘要： Microstructured optical fibre is fabricated using extrusion. The main design of optical fibre has a core suspended in an outer wall by a plurality of struts. A specially designed extruder die is used which comprises a central feed channel, flow diversion channels arranged to divert material radially outwards into a welding chamber formed within the die, a core forming conduit arranged to receive material by direct onward passage from the central feed channel, and a nozzle having an outer part in flow communication with the welding chamber and an inner part in flow communication with the core forming conduit, to respectively define an outer wall and core of the preform. With this design a relatively thick outer wall can be combined with thin struts (to ensure extinction of the optical mode field) and a core of any desired diameter or other thickness dimension in the case of non-circular cores. As well as glass, the extrusion process is suitable for use with polymers. The microstructured optical fibre is considered to have many potential device applications, in particular for non-linear devices, lasers and amplifiers.

摘要： An extruded, preferably flexible mixing tube having unitary construction and a lumen coextensive with the length thereof. A mixing portion of the lumen is tortuous and operable for mixing two or more comingled fluids flowing therethrough. The lumen of the mixing tube preferably includes a smooth cylindrical connector portion at both ends thereof dimensioned to receive tubing connectors. The mixing portion of the lumen is disposed between the connector portions and is in fluid communication with the connector portions of the lumens at both ends of the mixing tube. The mixing tube may be extruded in any desired length. The tortuous mixing portion of the lumen may have any desired cross-sectional geometry. In one embodiment the mixing portion is defined by a spiral conduit. In another embodiment, the mixing portion of the lumen varies in internal diameter periodically along the length of the mixing tube. In yet another embodiment, the mixing portion is comprised of a linear sequence of two or more tortuous conduits having different cross-sectional geometries.

The apparatus comprises a circular coextrusion die having an inlet (10) for the or each component and having an exit channel (18) ending in a circular exit orifice (21) which is located radially outwardly from the die axis compared to the inlet (10). The die comprises several planar or conical die parts (5, 6, 7, 28, 29) clamped together, with surfaces supplied with grooves (14) shaped to form channels (11, 12, 13) for the flow polymer material. The shape of the channels is adapted to equalize the flow over the circumference of the exit orifice (21), and the flow of material is divided between the inlet (10) and the exit (21) into a number of part flows (13) of generally helical form with space (15) provided for overflow of material between said part flows, whereby the part are adapted so that they join to one common, circular flow.
