    • A spraying device (10) includes a compound fourway rotatable control valve (30), an additive fluid control disc member (84) and a spray selector disc member (104), whereby a primary fluid, such as water, and an additive fluid, such as detergent, can be sprayed or dispensed in various spray patterns separately, or as a mixture having selectively variable concentrations of the additive fluid in the primary fluid. The compound fourway rotatable valve 30 is movable from an inoperative "OFF" position into first, second and third "WATER RINSE", "SOAP-AND-WATER" and "SUDS ONLY" operative positions. The control disc member (84) includes a plurality of orifices (86) of various diameters for controlling the amount of additive fluid dispensed into the primary fluid from a resilient bladder (16) containing the additive fluid as the bladder is collapsed in response to external pressure thereon by the primary fluid. The spray selector disc member (104) provides various spray patterns as the result of having orifices (112) of various configurations formed therethrough and selectively positionable in alignment with a discharge orifice of the device. A telescoping spray tube assembly (122), which telescopes outwardly in reponse to fluid pressure, may be utilized in place of the spray selector disc member (104).

    • A dispensing assembly for discharging a flowing fluid into which a desired amount of an additive liquid has been inserted includes a container for the additive liquid which may be removed from a dispenser body. The container is normally positively biased to a closed condition to prevent escape of the additive liquid. Opening of the container is effected upon establishment of a predetermined minimum pressure by the flowing fluid in the dispenser body. Additive liquid is forced from the container into the flowing fluid by a metered amount of flowing fluid inserted into the container to cause a flexible pressure member to force the additive liquid from the container. Opening of the container is not achieved until after the pressure member is exerting a force on the additive liquid. Resistance to flow of the additive liquid from the container is minimized, so that the amount of additive liquid inserted into the flowing fluid is dependent upon the flow rate of the flowing fluid and is essentially independent of the characteristics of the additive liquid. An alternative rinse path is provided to insure rinsing of the dispenser body before and after opening of the container. An appropriate flow regulating arrangement is utilized to selectively direct the flowing fluid through the alternative rinse path or to a pressure chamber to activate a mechanism for opening of the container.

    • A manual carwash nozzle structure includes a grip body, a barrel member, and a spray nozzle. The barrel member is formed of a connection body, an adjustment valve, and a detergent container. The connection body is provided with a water inlet in communication with a hose connector of the grip body, and a water outlet in communication with the water inlet and the spray nozzle. A bypass is jointly provided by the connection body and the adjustment valve, so as to allow a portion of incoming water in the water inlet to enter the detergent container in which a water-detergent mixture is formed. The mixture is let out of the container into the water outlet via the bypass.

    • A portable mixing and dispensing apparatus, especially useful for spraying, including a fluid conducting, mixing and supporting framework for the hydraulic unit in the apparatus. The framework includes spaced end plates and a conduit assembly. Each end plate has a cylinder head portion forming part of the cylinder of the hydraulic unit, an upper mounting flange, and a lower flange. The conduit assembly includes an intermediate conduit/handle and a pair of end units. The end units are nearly identical and are secured to the end plates so as to constitute unitary structures therewith, releasably connected to opposite ends of the cylinder body of the hydraulic unit and to the intermediate conduit/handle, thereby enabling easy access to the cylinder body and piston in the body. Each end unit includes an outlet conduit and an end conduit. The end conduits extend through the upper flanges and slip into the conduit/handle in a sealed, fluid conducting connection, thereby also releasably mounting the conduit/handle on the end plates. One of the end conduits is capped and serves as an auxiliary supporting leg, and two other legs extend from the same end plate, the three legs supporting the apparatus during filling. An outlet fitting is connected to the other end conduit, and an outlet hose may be connected to the outlet fitting and wrapped around the upper flanges in notches thereof. The lower flanges serve as main supporting legs during use of the apparatus for spraying. A method is also provided for rapidly filling the apparatus with a spraying liquid.
