    • A signal processor executes a required process based on a program stored in a RAM connected to the signal processor. The program is transferred from a ROM connected to a CPU, as requested. When the CPU determines based on the status of the RAM that the contents of a particular one of instructions which compose a particular program among the programs stored in the ROM should be changed, the CPU changes the contents of the instruction and transfers the changed instruction to the RAM. When a first one of a plurality of programs stored in the RAM is replaced with a second program transferred from the ROM, and the areas of the RAM used by the first and second programs are different, the CPU also changes the contents of instructions of other programs which are not required to be replaced.

    • A power window of a vehicle is disclosed wherein a window motor adapted for opening and closing a window of the vehicle is connected to a power source through a window switch for opening and closing the window and a main switch adapted to to be opened and closed in accordance with the opened and closed states of an ignition switch for an engine of the vehicle. The power window of the vehicle is controlled by a window sensor for detecting whether the window is opened or closed and for generating an output signal when the window is open. A detection circuit generates an output signal when the window sensor generates the output signal and the main switch is opened and an auto-close circuit, actuated by the output signal from the detection circuit, operates the window motor in a direction to close the window.

    • Provided is a navigation system capable of outputting situation information of a specified area according to real-time traffic information including a traffic regulation. A navigation apparatus can make a user recognize the moment when a vehicle (Q) enters a specified area (A) where a situation which affects the travel of the vehicle (Q) along a navigation route (r) is generated and the situation (inf(A)) indicating the situation by using an icon (x) indicating an entry position (pin) and having a design decided according to the situation information (inf(A)). The navigation apparatus also can advice the user to instruct the navigation apparatus to perform an appropriate countermeasure in accordance with the situation such as re-search of the navigation route (r) or detour from the navigation route (r) being outputted.
