    • An occupant restraining device that can maintain the internal pressure of a bag at a high level is provided. A bag 12 has its left and right ends both provided with stationary sections 12a and 12a that are fixed to a seat pan 8. Specifically, the bonding of these panels together along the edges thereof involves the use of elastic adhesive 19 having a stretchability of 200% or more, for example, between 200% and 400%.

In one form, the motor vehicle seat according to the present invention is constructed to house an airbag module in a housing portion provided in a seat pan, and to be provided with an airbag cover that intercepts a housing opening of the housing portion and that covers a housing opening side of the airbag. In addition, the motor vehicle seat has a lower portion area (a groove portion) which is an area located outside an edge portion area of the housing opening of the housing portion and lower than the edge portion area, and located adjacent to an outer edge of the airbag cover in the mounted condition.
