摘要： An object of the present invention is to provide an element connecting apparatus with which the position of a core of each element in an optical transmission module in a short time with high accuracy. To attain the object, in a core position detection method according to the present invention, upon detecting a core of a PLC chip, parallel light is made incident on the output side end face of the PLC chip, so that the core position is detected based on an image of the input side end face obtained with the parallel light. In addition, the core position is detected by an image of the output side end face that is obtained while parallel light is made incident on the input side end face.

摘要： To provide surface-emitting type semiconductor lasers and methods of manufacturing the same in which the polarization direction of laser light can be readily controlled, a surface-emitting type semiconductor laser includes a vertical resonator above a substrate. The vertical resonator includes a first mirror, an active layer and a second mirror disposed in this order from the substrate. The vertical resonator has a plurality of unit resonators. An emission region of each of the unit resonators has a diameter that oscillates in a single-mode.

摘要： A circuit breaker device for use on an electric vehicle has a high-voltage drive power supply for supplying electric energy to a load to drive the electric vehicle, a circuit breaker for cutting off the electric energy supplied from the drive power supply to the load, a sensor assembly for detecting conditions of the electric vehicle, and a controller for controlling operation of the circuit breaker in response to a detected signal from the sensor assembly. The controller is connected to a low-voltage accessory power supply for energizing accessories on the electric vehicle, and also connected to the drive power supply through a power supply converter for converting the electric energy supplied from the drive power supply, so that the controller can be energized at all times by at least one of either the accessory power supply or the drive power supply. The circuit breaker has first and second shunt coils energizable for cutting off the output of the electric energy from the drive power supply and the accessory power supply, the first shunt coil being connected to the drive power supply and the second shunt coil being connected to the accessory power supply.

摘要： A terahertz wave generation device includes a light source device emitting an optical pulse, and an antenna generating a terahertz wave through irradiation of the optical pulse that is emitted from the light source device onto the antenna, wherein the light source device includes an optical pulse generation unit generating the optical pulse, a first pulse compression unit performing pulse compression based on saturable absorbers with respect to the optical pulse generated by the optical pulse generation unit, a second pulse compression unit performing pulse compression based on group velocity dispersion compensation with respect to the optical pulse already compressed by the first pulse compression unit, and an amplifying unit installed between the first pulse compression unit and the second pulse compression unit to amplify the optical pulse emitted from the first pulse compression unit.

摘要： A workpiece transfer apparatus includes a nozzle unit and an imaging unit. The nozzle unit includes a tubular body, a suction hole opening at one end of the tubular body and an end face member of a transparent body sealing the other end of the tubular body. The imaging unit captures images of first patterns for positioning that are located on an upper surface of a workpiece. The size and shape of the suction hole fits within an outline of the upper surface of the workpiece. The end face member of the transparent body maintains a negative pressure inside the cylindrical body and permits optical penetration for the imaging unit. The imaging unit captures the image of the first pattern for positioning of the workpiece while the imaging unit views a suctioned surface of the workpiece through the transparent body and the suction hole.
