    • A variable resistor includes a resistor element having a first end and a second end, a slider sliding on the resistor element, an adjustable resistor portion having a first end connected to the first end of the resistor element and having a second end, a first terminal connected to the second end of the adjustable resistor portion, a second terminal electrically coupled to the second end of the resistor element, and a third terminal connected to the slider. The adjustable resistor portion is positioned outside of the sliding range of the slider. This variable resistor outputs a precise resistance having s small variation from a predetermined resistance.

    • Operating rod 21 is provided with a spherical portion 21B that has a polygon shape in the horizontal cross section, which is engaged with a polygonal opening 23C provided above a central opening 23A of a revolving member 23 so that the two items make a same revolution together, yet the operating rod 21 can make a free up-down movement independently. The operating rod 21 has a pushing portion 21D at the lower end; upper surface of which pushing portion 21D is keeping an elastic contact to a middle ring-platform 23B of the revolving member 23 via a washer 4. So, even when the operating rod 21 is positioned slightly aslant, it can perform both revolving and up-down actions smoothly. In an electronic appliance incorporating the revolving operation electronic component of the above structure, the clearance margin to be provided in relation to an operating knob and an aperture for the knob can be made small. Thus the electronic component in accordance with the present invention contributes to offer electronic appliances of high quality-grade with which a smooth feeling of operation is assured.

    • Disclosed is a heat-resistant Ti alloy material excellent in high-temperature corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance, which comprises a base made of a heat-resistant Ti alloy and a surface layer formed on the surface of the base. The surface layer has a multilayer structure including an inner layer and an outer layer. The inner layer has three coexistent phases consisting of a β phase, a γ phase and a Laves phase in the phase diagram of a Ti—Al—Cr based alloy, and the outer layer is made of an Al—Ti—Cr based alloy having an Al concentration of 50 atomic % or more. The heat-resistant Ti alloy material is produced by subjecting a substrate made of a heat-resistant Ti alloy to a Cr diffusion treatment at a temperature within a β single-phase region in the phase diagram of a Ti—Al—Cr based alloy, precipitating a γ phase and a Laves phase from the β phase during a cooling process to form the inner layer with three coexistent phases consisting of the β, γ and Laves phases, and then subjecting the obtained product to an Al diffusion treatment to form the outer layer. The heat-resistant Ti alloy material can prevent the diffusion of Al from the outer layer to the base and the diffusion of elements of the base to the outer layer while forming a protective Al2O3 film in a self-repairing manner, to provide excellent high-temperature corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance to the heat-resistant Ti alloy base.
