摘要： A full-zone optical image addressing apparatus, including an addressing device, an image extraction converter, a comparator, an AND gate and a counter. The addressing device is located at the enclosure of the scanner and includes a plurality of geometric patterns. Each of the geometric patterns includes a plurality of rows of pixels. While receiving an exposure signal, the image extraction converter extracts one row of pixels from the addressing device, such that a series of analog signals is obtained and output to the comparator. The comparator then compares the series of analog signals to an analog critical voltage to output a series of analog comparison signals to the AND gate. The AND gate synchronously processes the series of analog comparison signals and a pixel rate clock to output the pixel data corresponding to the extracted row of pixels to the counter. After receiving the synchronously processed pixel value from the AND gate, the counter calculates and outputs the extracted row of pixels, including the amount of pixels and the geometric patterns in the row of pixels.

Under low operating resolution, the vertical resolution is increased by making the line ratio an integer, in order to solve the problem of color-quality loss due to a non-integer line ratio.

The method comprises: (1) using each of the three light sources and the scanning module to scan a color calibration document to obtain three sets of scanned color image signals of the color calibration document, where three sets of final color image signals of the color calibration document are known, (2) using the three sets of scanned color image signals and final color image signals of the color calibration document to calculate three sets of color calibration parameters for calibrating the three light sources, each set of color calibration parameters comprising three color calibration parameters for calibrating the three light sources to obtain one set of final color image signals, and (3) using each of the three sets of color calibration parameters to adjust the three light sources when scanning the document so as to obtain three sets of final color image signals of the document.

摘要： An automatic image calibration method is provided for a contact type scanner. The inventive method involves in first reading an image of a test chart that consists of at least a horizontal line and a plurality of slanting lines. Then, compute the calibration parameters according to the image of the test chart. The calibration parameters include a vertical displacement value, a horizontal displacement value, and a slope value. After obtaining the calibration parameters for each sensor chip, the initialization step is complete. The calibration parameters must be stored in a memory device for an application program to read. Later on, for each image read by the contact type scanner, the application program can automatically calibrate the image according to the calibration parameters stored in the memory device.

The pixel signals from the consecutive photocells of one linear image sensor are read out, without inserting the pixel signals form the other linear image sensor. The method provides quick video output especially for low-resolution definition.
