    • A spring servo type aperture control device in a camera having mounted thereon a lens comprises: an aperture mechanism including an aperture blade and determining the aperture by varying the position of said aperture blade, an aperture lever connected to said aperture mechanism and displaceable between a first position for rendering said aperture blade to an open aperture and a second position for rendering said aperture blade to a minimum aperture, and a member for biasing said aperture lever toward said second position, said aperture control device comprising: a control member engaged with said aperture lever and movable between a third position and a fourth position corresponding to said first position and said second position, respectively, a spring member storing a drive force by shutter charge and giving forth the stored drive force by shutter release, a cam member disposed between said control member and said spring member and rotatable by the drive force of said spring member upon shutter release to drive said control member at a uniform velocity from said third position to said fourth position, said aperture lever stopping down the aperture in response to the movement of said control member from said third position to said fourth position, metering means including an electromagnetic means for blocking the movement of said control member when the quantity of light transmitted through the aperture being stopped down has reached a predetermined value, and a member adapted to return said control member to said third position after completion of exposure.

    • A shutter charge device for lens shutter is mountable and dismountable to a camera which has a focal plane shutter and permits lens interchangeability. The device has a camera side connector member provided on a film advance shaft, the camera having mountable thereto a lens incorporating therein a lens shutter having a shutter charge lever projected outwardly of the lens barrel. The shutter charge device comprises a charge member engageable with the shutter charge lever of the camera to displace the latter lever and charge the lens shutter, and movement transmitting means adapted to be coupled to the connector member upon mounting of the shutter charge device to the camera to transmit the movement of the connector member to the charge member during film advance operation in the camera thereby to displace the charge member to a lens shutter charging position.

    • A pre-tensioner capable of effectively absorbing kinetic energy exerted on a coupling member connected to a piston during operation. As a gas generator is actuated to generate gas in the event of emergency, the gas is introduced into a pressure chamber. By gas pressure of the gas, a piston moves at high speed toward a taper portion of a cylinder to reach the taper portion. According to the movement of the piston, a buckle is pulled toward a bracket so that the buckle is about to reach the bottom. After that, the piston further moves to the left while deforming the taper portion. The deformation of the taper portion absorbs kinetic energy of the piston. Therefore, kinetic energy of the buckle is absorbed so as to stop the buckle softly and the impact is buffered.

    • The present invention relates to a robot for individually removing requested books from their prescribed locations in bookracks and returning them, a hand mechanism for the robot, and an automated library book handling system incorporating the robot. The robot comprises a carriage that moves itself around a bookrack in which are formed a plurality of shelf sections having shelf section identification information indicated thereon, in which library books having book identification information indicated thereon are stored upright in shelf sections prescribed therefor; and mounted on the carriage are a hand mechanism; a control unit for controlling three-dimensional motion of the hand mechanism opposite the bookrack; a mobile computer for obtaining, based on instructions from a library book checkout and return counter, the identification information for a requested book along with the requested book's prescribed shelf section storage location, and performing guidance control of the carriage and the three-dimensional motion of the hand mechanism; and a mobile power supply. The hand mechanism of the robot further comprises an identification information recognition unit for detecting shelf section identification information indicated on the bookrack as well as book identification information indicated on the library books, and recognizing a requested book's prescribed shelf section storage location, and a requested book present at that prescribed shelf section storage location; a book pullout mechanism for pulling-out a requested book from a row of books in a shelf section; and a book-holding mechanism for removing the pulled-out book by grasping the book across the thickness direction thereof.

    • An airbag device is formed of a retainer having a center opening, an air bag, and at least one inflater fixed to the retainer. The air bag includes an outer bag having an outer bag opening, and an inner bag arranged inside the outer bag and having an inner bag opening. The peripheries of the outer and inner bag openings are directly or indirectly fixed to the retainer so that the inner bag communicates with an outside through the outer bag opening and the center opening. The inflater has a main body containing a gas generating agent therein and faces a space between the outer and inner bags to directly supply gas to the space when the inflater is actuated. When the gas is supplied to the space between the outer and inner bags, air is inspired into the inner bag through the center opening.
