摘要： A backlight assembly includes a container, a plurality of lamps and a lamp-fixing member. The container includes a bottom face and side faces extending therefrom that define a receiving space. The lamps are arranged in parallel with each other in the container. The lamp-fixing member includes a support body installed in the container and arranged in a direction intersecting a lengthwise direction of extension of each of the lamps, a lamp-fixing portion protruding from the support body and covering a respective lamp, and a boss protruding from an inner face of the lamp-fixing portion and extending toward a center of the respective lamp to fix the respective lamp with a corresponding lamp-fixing portion via a point or line contact. Thus, a local decrease in temperature of the lamp covered by the lamp-fixing portion may be prevented to improve image display quality by preventing or eliminating dark spots.

摘要： A lamp, lamp holder, and a power supply substrate that allow easy fabrication of a backlight assembly or a power supply module for a display device are presented. The lamp includes a lamp tube and an electrode that extends outside the lamp tube to form a lamp lead. The lamp holder includes a body for holding the lamp tube and a power supply member for providing voltage to the lamp lead. A power supply module includes a power supply substrate combined with a lamp holder holding the lamp. The lamp holders are fixed to fixing portions of the power supply substrate or to fixing holes of a connection plate. As the design allows easy separation of the lamp holders from the power supply substrate, building a backlight assembly or a display device is facilitated.

摘要： A method of forming a backlight assembly is presented. The invention reduces the degradation of display quality caused by an uneven expansion of the reflective sheet in a display device. The reflective sheet may be positioned between the light guiding plate and the base in a backlight assembly of a display device. The backlight assembly includes a light source, a light guiding plate positioned to guide light from the light source in a predetermined direction, a base on which the light guiding plate is mounted, and a reflective sheet positioned between the light guiding plate and the base. The reflective sheet has a cutout. A supporting structure extends through the cutout between the light guiding plate and the base to support the light guiding plate. A liquid crystal display device made with such backlight assembly is also presented.

The mold frame includes a bottom face, a side face upwardly extending from an edge of the bottom face, and a top face horizontally extending from an upper end of the side face and being opposite to the bottom face. The side face has openings through which lamps are moved. The lamp-fixing member is installed on the bottom face of the mold frame and fixes an end of each of the lamps.
