摘要： A lid for a liquid pack is formed from a plastic material and includes a substantially flat end wall. A pouring spout is disposed within the outside contour of an outer first plane of the lid. An opening flap portion closes a pouring opening, and a handle is secured to the opening flap portion by a hinge. The opening flap portion is connected by way of an endless weakening line to the wall of the lid, and a collar is disposed at the periphery of the lid at an inwardly displaced position for mounteing to a side wall of the pack. The weakening line extends in a second inner plane and at a spacing below and parallel to the first outer plane, with the spacing between the two planes being greater than or equal to the height of a collar portion projecting outwardly from the weakening line at the opening flap portion. The lid is first molded with the handle extending normally from the end wall, the mold is opened, and the handle is folded to a position substantially against the end wall while the handle is still in a plastic state.

摘要： Method and apparatus adapted for use on a conveyor line to form a rolled tab in the tail end portion of a roll of plastic film wound on a core. The tail end portion initially extends around the surface of the roll to which the tail end portion adheres and terminates at a tail edge. The apparatus includes a bucket which is connected to the conveyor line for movement thereon and has a floor and wall extending therefrom. The floor of the bucket has a tractional surface supporting the roll and the wall has a substantially frictionless surface pushing the roll in the direction of the conveyor line. The apparatus further includes a drive, extending in stationary position substantially parallel to the conveyor line and having a resilient tractional surface being compressed into rotational contact with the roll, for rotating the roll. The drive rotates the roll to rub the surface of the roll against the tractional surface of the floor which separates the tail end portion from the surface of the roll and rolls the tail edge back on the tail end portion to form a rolled tab containing the tail edge.

摘要： Shaped articles, especially ones containing a plurality of fine through passages, are made from a composition containing a refractory particulate material by extrusion, cutting the extrudate, while vertically hanging or suspending into lengths while in the green deformable state by a high velocity water jet, and then calcining to bind the refractory particles together. Depending on the nature of the refractory material, the articles are of use as catalyst supports or precursors, adsorbents, or absorbents. The extrudate is extruded horizontally and allowed to sag into a gap between the extrusion die and a transport device, which is driven positively to maintain the degree of sag within predetermined limits, and the frequency of cutting depends on the rate of movement of the transport device.

摘要： A tamper-evident closure is provided which includes a threaded cap and tamper-indicating means having upwardly and inwardly folded tabs which lock against the lower surface of an annular shoulder on a container neck to retain the tamper-indicating means on the neck as the cap is removed. The tamper-indicating means includes a ring to which the tabs are integrally connected at their lower outer ends. The tabs are resilient and are flexed by the container finish at the joints where they are joined to the ring. The closure of the present invention may be installed simply by screwing it onto a container neck in a one-step process. The flexible tabs assist in guiding the closure and centering it as it is lowered onto the container neck for installing and do not require the holding of the closure or the container finish to close tolerances in order to be consistently effective. The method of manufacturing the closure of the present invention includes the steps of molding a plastic blank which includes a cap, a ring, and tabs extending vertically downwardly from the ring; bending the tabs radially inward and upward; and heating the folded joints formed where the tabs are bent upward from the ring to set the tabs in their upwardly and inwardly inclined positions.

摘要： The hose, which is particularly adapted for use with an electrically-driven vacuum cleaning apparatus, comprises a substantially air-tight, flexible tube which is pneumatically coupled between the vacuum pump and the suction head. The suction hose comprises one or more elongated strips which is or are helically wound into tubular form. In a pair of parallelly placed strips, the strip margin of the first strip is secured to an adjacent margin of the second strip at adjoining convolutions of the strips. Electrical conductors are carried by the strips within helically extending cavities formed at the edges or margins of each of the strips and are a portion of that means which electrically couples the cleaning brush to the electrical power supply.
