    • It is an object of the present invention to provide a power tool having a further improved vibration reducing performance. The representative power tool may comprise a tool bit, an actuating mechanism, a dynamic vibration reducer. The actuating mechanism drives the tool bit linearly by means of pressure fluctuations so as to cause the tool bit to perform a predetermined operation. The dynamic vibration reducer has a weight that reciprocates under a biasing force of an elastic element to reduce vibration of the actuating mechanism. The weight may be driven by means of pressure fluctuations caused in the actuating mechanism. According to the invention, the weight of the dynamic vibration reducer can be actively driven by pressure fluctuations in the actuating mechanism for driving the tool bit. Therefore, regardless of the magnitude of vibration acting on the power tool, the dynamic vibration reducer can be forcedly and steadily operated.

    • An electrically powered hammer comprising a hollow cylindrical spindle mounted within a housing. A portion of the spindle is formed with a plurality of circumferentially spaced holes and a corresponding number of peg elements are fitted to the spindle, such that each peg element extends through a corresponding hole in the spindle and radially inwardly of the internal surface of the spindle, in such a way that the peg elements together form an axial stop for one or more additional hammer components located within the spindle. Each peg element may alternatively or additonally extend radially outwardly of the corresponding hole in the spindle, in such a way that the peg elements together form an axial stop for one or more additional hammer components located around the spindle. The axial stops formed by the peg elements can replace circlips, which are generally used to form the axial stops.

    • A drilling and/or hammering tool which includes a hollow spindle (1) and a tool holder (10) that can be attached to an end (18) of the spindle and removed therefrom. The toll holder comprises a tool holder body (14) which can be fitted within the end of the spindle and releaseably locked therein by means of at least one locking element (32) and a locking ring (42) for releasably holding the or each locking element in a locked position in which the locking element(s) lock(s) the tool holder to the spindle. The tool holder (10) comprises a manually actuable sleeve (40) for rotating the locking ring (42) in a first direction and for rotating the tool holder body (14) in a second opposite direction, and resilient means (62) for urging the tool holder body to follow the movement of the locking ring in the first direction and the locking ring to follow the movement of the tool holder body in the second direction. The resilient means urges the locking ring and the tool holder body into relative rotational positions in which the locking ring (42) holds the or each locking element in the locked position. The locking ring (42) has an internal radius that varies along its circumference so that rotation of the locking ring about the axis of the tool holder body will move it between a locking position in which it causes the or each locking element (32) to retain the toll holder body in the spindle, and a release position in which it will allow the or each locking element to move radially to release the tool holder body.

    • A water driven hammer device has a machine housing and a hammer piston movable to-and-fro in the machine housing. The hammer piston is guided in the machine housing in two guides separated from each other. The guides are formed from two parts each having different inner diameters, and the parts with the largest inner diameters on the guide are turned towards each other. A room between the guides is pressurized and chambers on the other side of the guides are kept at a lower pressure, resulting in fluid flow through the guides for centering the hammer piston in the machine housing to avoid seizure of the hammer piston.
