    • The nested automatically separable flying disk assembly includes an outer or cover disk assembly enclosing a nested or inner disk assembly. The outer or cover disk assembly is of a generally cylinderical disk shape having an air space between itself and the nested or inner disk assembly provided by a central nub projection cooperating with flange nub projections. The nested or inner disk assembly is provided with an outer peripheral flange section extended downwardly and below a similar peripheral rim section on the outer or cover disk assembly for allowing air to flow therebetween to cause the desired separation between the nested disk assemblies. An adjustable central nub projection is provided to adjustably change separation between the outer or cover disk assembly and the nested or inner disk assembly. The nested or inner disk assembly is provided with a plurality of inclined concentric aerodynamic ridges to alter air flow and resultant turbulence of air flow between the nested disk assemblies to vary the aerodynamic flight characteristics thereof. Second and third embodiments provide different angular relationships, either inwardly or outwardly, of the outer adjacent peripheral rim section of the outer or cover disk assembly and the peripheral flange section of the nested or inner disk assembly to achieve an increase or decrease in the time of separation of the outer or cover disk assembly from the nested or inner disk assembly.

    • A coaxial terminal construction for a sealed pressurized battery. The battery includes a sealed vessel containing a series of battery cells and positive and negative poles are connected to the cells. A pre-assembled terminal unit extends through an annular mounting flange that is secured within an opening in the vessel wall and the pre-assembled unit includes an inner electode, an outer electrode, which is disposed concentrically outward of the inner electrode and insulated therefrom, and an annular mounting member which is located concentrically outward of the outer electrode and insulated therefrom. All three concentric members have external threads of the same pitch. The terminal unit is installed by threading the mounting member in the mounting flange of the vessel and simultaneously threading the outer electrode with a nut connected to one of the poles and threading the inner electrode with a second nut connected to the other of the poles. The mounting member can be crimped inwardly to provide a seal between the three concentric members.

    • Multilayer ceramic capacitors, and in particular NPO class capacitors are produced from dielectric compositions comprising a mixture of BaO, PbO, Nd.sub.2 O.sub.3, Bi.sub.2 O.sub.3, TiO.sub.2 and one of the rare earth oxides selected from the group consisting of Pr.sub.6 O.sub.11 and Sm.sub.2 O.sub.3, the selected rare earth oxide being present in an amount ranging from approximately 10 to 100 wt. % of the amount of Nd.sub.2 O.sub.3 in the mixture. In one embodiment an acrylic binder is added to the mixture to produce ceramic sheets which are screen printed with a Pt-Pd-Au electrode, and then cut into thin layers, stacked, laminated, sintered and terminated to produce a multilayer capacitor having an extremely stable TC and effective dielectric constant as high as 120. A high bismuth glass frit composition may be mixed with the dielectric ceramic mixture to produce a low sintering temperature mixture which is processed as above and then screen printed with a Ag-Pd alloy and laminated to produce a multilayer capacitor which can be sintered at a temperature as low as 1100.degree. C.

    • A method of altering the targeting and/or cellular uptake efficiency of an adeno-associated virus (AAV) viral vector having a capsid containing an AAV9 cell surface binding domain is described. The method involves modifying a clade F cell surface receptor which comprises a glycan having a terminal sialic acid residue and a penultimate β-galactose residue. The modification may involve retargeting the vector by temporarily functionally ablate AAV9 binding in a subset of cells, thereby redirecting the vector to another subset of cells. Alternatively, the modification may involve increasing cellular update efficiency by treating the cells with a neuraminidase to expose cell surface β-galactose. Also provided are compositions containing the AAV9 vector and a neuraminidase. Also provided is a method for purifying AAV9 using β-galactose linked to solid support. Also provided are mutant vectors which have been modified to alter their targeting specificity, including mutant AAV9 in which the galactose binding domain is mutated and AAV in which an AAV9 galactose binding domain is engineered.
