    • An apparatus and method of making an improved sound reducing panel is disclosed suitable for use in an outdoor or a hazardous environment. The improved sound reducing panel comprises a water resistant sound absorbing member with a porous covering sheet overlaying a face surface of the sound absorbing member. A support frame is disposed about an outer perimeter of the sound absorbing member. An attachment secures the improved sound reducing panel to the support frame. In one embodiment, a sound blocking member is located adjacent to the sound absorbing member.

    • The invention is a set of two structural tubes joined by an axle with friction bearings. The axle allows the two tube sections to rotate in a plane with respect to each other, producing a relative angle (azimuth) between the two tubes. The axle is made of high strength steel and is threaded. Machined holes are in an evenly distributed pattern on the spines of the tubes. The utility of the invention derives from the uniform section shape of a square tube with a spine, where the spine has a pattern of through holes. The hole pattern is symmetric about the center hole in the pattern. When adjusting the relative angle a between the two structural tubes, four Vernier scales are exposed, two on each structural tube. The four Vernier scales may be viewed for use from the top-left, top-right, bottom-left or bottom-right approach to the device.

    • A reverberation room comprising walls, ceiling and floor having specific dimensions and spatial relationships used in an automotive testing laboratory to analyze sound for the purposes of measuring transmission loss and sound absorption. The room possesses two transmission loss test windows. One window is placed in the ceiling and one is placed in a side wall. Samples for testing can be mounted horizontally in the ceiling window. A rotating microphone boom is used in combination with the room to sample the sound field in the reverbration room and in reception chambers attached thereto. Three loudspeakers are also positioned in the room to generate the sound field in the reverberation room and indirectly in the reception chambers.

    • A system utilizing a series of sound absorbant baffles which are spaced along intersecting wall and ceiling surfaces of a room or alternatively entirely on a wall surface to absorb sound waves moving in an oblique manner to the surfaces. The baffles are of a low density material with faces projecting from the wall and ceiling surfaces. Sealant applied to baffle edges ensures gap free securement to wall and ceiling surfaces. The baffles do not significantly interfere with sound moving perpendicular to the wall and ceiling surfaces to preserve desired acoustical characteristics of a room. Mounting brckets including clips may be provided for attaching the baffles to room surfaces in a removable manner.
