    • An extracardiac pumping for supplementing the circulation of blood, including the cardiac output, in a patient without any component thereof being connected to the patient's heart, and methods of using same. One embodiment provides a vascular graft that has a first end that is sized and configured to couple to a non-primary blood vessel and a second end that is fluidly coupled to a pump to conduct blood between the pump and the non-primary blood vessel. An outflow conduit is also provided that has a first end sized and configured to be positioned within the same or different blood vessel, whether primary or non-primary, through the vascular graft. The outflow conduit is fluidly coupled to the pump to conduct blood between the pump and the patient. The vascular graft may be connected to the blood vessel subcutaneously to permit application of the extracardiac pumping system in a minimally-invasive procedure.

    • A thrombectomy and balloon angioplasty catheter for the removal of blood clots and debris from a blood vessel and/or for the dilation of a narrowed or completely closed segment in the blood vessel is disclosed. The catheter includes a shaft having a proximal end and a distal end, an angioplasty balloon mounted to the shaft adjacent the distal end of the shaft, and an occlusion balloon mounted to the shaft at a location proximally spaced from the angioplasty balloon. A guide wire lumen is arranged on the shaft. The guide wire lumen extends from a first position adjacent the distal end of the shaft to a second position proximal the angioplasty balloon and distal the proximal end of the shaft. The shaft includes an angioplasty balloon inflation lumen in fluid communication with the proximal end of the shaft and an interior space of the angioplasty balloon, an occlusion balloon inflation lumen in fluid communication with the proximal end of the shaft and an interior space of the occlusion balloon, and a thrombectomy lumen in fluid communication with the proximal end of the shaft and a thrombectomy suction port located between the angioplasty balloon and the occlusion balloon.

    • A method, technique and system is disclosed for the delivery of therapeutic agents and/or into the bulk brain tissues and other parts, tissues and organs of the body, including vasculature. A novel form of coaxial catheter provides a means for implanting an outer tube into the brain, then inserting an inner tube into the outer tube and aligning them such that port holes on both of the tubes will overlap and permit a flux of the therapeutic agent to flow into the brain in such a way as to minimize the effects of trapped air, virtually eliminate backflow of the agent, and avoid the potential for additional damage to the brain since only one surgical placement of the outer tube is needed. Similarly, the method, technique system may be utilized to remove fluids or other medium from the brain, tissues, and organs to minimize the effects of escaped air or negative pressure.
