    • Low-pressure fire-extinguishing liquid is converted into mist. A fire-extinguishing spray nozzle (10) comprises a main body (30) and an obstacle (36). The main body (30) has a port (40) for radially injecting the fire-extinguishing liquid. The obstacle (36) has an opposing surface (60) and is opposite to the port (40). The opposing surface (60) is arranged within a radial-injection region (102) of the fire-extinguishing liquid radially injected from the port (40). One part of the fire-extinguishing liquid radially injected from the port (40) collides with the opposing surface (60) and is reflected therefrom. The other part of the fire-extinguishing liquid radially injected from the port (40) passes around the opposing surface (60). The one part of the fire-extinguishing liquid is reflected from the opposing surface (60) and the other part passes around the opposing surface (60). In consequence, the fire-extinguishing liquid (72) reflected from the opposing surface (60) collides with the fire-extinguishing liquid (70) passing around the supposing surface (60). The collision between the fire-extinguishing liquids produces mist (74).

    • The invention relates to a dry sump type or semidry sump type lubricating system of an engine in which a lubricating method executes an operation while keeping an inner side of a crank chamber in a dry state. An oil drain port is formed in a bottom surface of each of individual crank chambers partitioned into the cylinders, and a scavenging oil pump is provided so as to suck out oil to an oil reservoir portion which is isolated from each of the individual crank chambers. An oil collecting chamber communicating with a suction portion of the scavenging oil pump is provided in a lower side of the bottom wall in the crank chamber, and the oil drain port is communicated with the oil collecting chamber.

    • A mold monitoring apparatus for an injection molding machine captures an image of a cavity portion of an opened mold, and determines the state of the cavity portion by means of image processing. The apparatus includes a light emitting unit, an image capturing unit, and an image processing unit. The light emitting unit projects onto the cavity portion light rays other than visible light rays. The image capturing unit includes an image sensor for capturing reflection light rays that travel from the cavity portion to the image sensor via a filter for blocking visible light rays. The image processing unit determines the state of the cavity portion on the basis of an image signal output from the image sensor and through image processing.

    • An interface section analyzes print data including data for identifying an object or data showing the setting of color processing and others and sets required color processing in units of a printed page. According to the set color processing, a color processing section sets corresponding color correction table and halftoning processing table in a high speed random access memory for example. The interface supplies a drawing instruction together with attribute data corresponding to the setting in the color processing section to a drawing section. The drawing section plots image data composed of color data every dot according to the drawing instruction and stores the drawing instruction together with the attribute data every dot in an image memory. The color processing section executes optimum or intended color processing for color data in the image memory, referring to a color correction table and a halftoning processing table respectively corresponding to its attribute data and generates image reproduction data. Accordingly, arbitrary color processing can be realized by a controller composed of light hardware.
