    • A tape cassette which is convenient for minimization is provided. A cassette case is formed from an upper half and a lower half. A back lid includes a front lid, a back lid and a top lid, and covers over a portion of a magnetic tape positioned outside the cassette case. A lid locking member is mounted on the cassette case for engaging with an arresting recessed portion of the front lid to lock the lid member at a closed position. A torsion spring for biasing the lid member toward the closed position is resiliently contacted at an arm thereof with a spring anchoring portion of the lid locking member to exert a pivoting force to pivot the lid locking member to its locking position. A stopper portion is provided on the lower half such that an abutting portion of the lid locking member may be abutted therewith to prevent excessive pivotal motion of the lid locking member toward the locking position.

    • A recording medium cassette comprises a cassette case cassette case board and a release part. The cassette case board has a plurality of board terminals and also has positioning holes formed in its outer surface so as to expose the plurality of board terminals along with insertion guide channels formed consecutively at the lower ends of the positioning holes so as to reach the lower end of the cassette case. The angle of the release part with respect to the height of the cassette case is greater than the angle of an inclined portion, which spans from contact points to free end parts of resilient connector contacts set up at a recording/playback apparatus connector, with respect to the height of the cassette case, and the connector contacts do not come into contact with the release part when the recording medium cassette is installed in the recording/playback apparatus and the contacts are therefore brought together in a reliable manner.

    • A tape cassette has a substantially rectangular, box-shaped casing with a recess in a front portion of the casing having openings facing forwardly and downwardly, respectively, and with a bottom wall of the casing having an undersurface including cassette height determining portions adjacent the front and back of the casing and a slide surface portion therebetween which is planar and recessed relative to at least the cassette height determining portions adjacent the back of the casing. A lid is pivotally mounted on the casing for movements between a closed position extending across the opening facing forwardly from the recess and a raised opened position uncovering the forwardly facing opening, and a tape is wound about reels rotatable in the casing and extends between the reels in a path including a run extending across the forwardly facing opening so as to be disposed in back of the lid in its closed position. A shutter includes a lateral portion extending across the undersurface of the bottom wall and being slidable relative to the slide surface portion between a closed position in which the shutter closes the opening facing downwardly from the recess and a rearwardly displaced opened position uncovering such opening. The lateral portion of the shutter is dimensioned to be contained within the recessed slide surface portion in at least the opened position of the shutter so as to avoid any interference with access to the cassette height determining portions of the undersurface.

    • A propulsion air stream deflecting apparatus for an air cushion vehicle having a hull, an air duct mounted on the hull and a propeller fan, includes a plurality of rudders, each mounted on the hull adjacent to the rear open end of the duct for pivotal movement about a vertical axis. The rudders are adapted to close the rear open end of the air duct. A rudder control mechanism is operatively connected to the rudders for controlling the pivotal movement of the rudders to selectively provide a propulsion thrust and a steering thrust to the hull and to provide a closed position in which the rear open end of the air duct is closed by the rudders. A flap is pivotably mounted at the rear end thereof to the duct such that the flap closes an opening, formed at the rear end of the air duct, at a closed position thereof where the inner face of the flap is substantially flush with the inner surface of the air duct. The flap turns outwardly to open the opening due to an increase in pressure in the duct in the closed position of the rudders, for deflecting the air stream, passing out the opening, forwards to provide a forward thrust to the hull for braking, stopping or rearwardly moving the hull. A flap urging spring urges the flap to close the opening.
