    • In the data processing system which maintains data duplication between sites having a host computer and a storage apparatus, transfer-data volume and cost in communication line between the sites are controlled and the load of both primary and secondary hosts is controlled, and a data update management function at the secondary site side is realized. In the primary site, a primary DKC of primary storage apparatus stores an update data in a primary side file when a primary user data is updated from a primary host. Being asynchronous with this update, a secondary remote copy program of a primary remote copy program and an intermediate processing section remote-copies and accumulates the update data in a secondary side file. A data reflection program of a secondary host reads the accumulated data and commands a secondary DKC of a secondary storage apparatus to reflect it on a secondary user data and stores the update information in a secondary log data.

    • Various types of resources of the disk array device are divided for respective users and communications resources used in remote copying are appropriately assigned to the users so that functional interference between the split units is prevented and stable remote copying is realized. SLPRs which are dedicated regions for the respective users are set inside the disk array device 10. During remote copying, the amount of transfer within the unit time is detected for each of the SLPRs. If the amount of transfer within the unit time exceeds the maximum amount of transfer, a response to the host computer 1 from this SLPR is deliberately delayed, so that the inflow of data from the host computer 1 is restricted.

    • A slit exposure type copying apparatus capable of producing copies at various magnifications has a holder for holding an original to be copied in a stationary position at one end of an optical path, a photosensitive member at the other end of the optical path, an exposure slit through which portions of an image of the original are successively projected, the photosensitive member being movable past the exposure slit at a speed V, and a mirror structure having a first and second reflecting surfaces disposed perpendicular to each other, the second reflecting surface reflecting the successive portions of the image to the exposure slit and onto the photosensitive member through said slit. A replaceable stationary projection or a zoom lens is disposed between the holder for the original and the first reflecting surface, and the mirror structure is movable to scan the successive parts of the image of the original projected by the projection lens in a direction and having a velocity which has a velocity component V/2 perpendicular to the optical axis of the image striking the first reflecting surface and leaving the second reflecting surface, whereby the image can be projected at different magnifications without changing the speeds of movement of the photosensitive member and said first and second surfaces.

    • Frame detection circuitry for sensing frame sensing marks on a microfilm uses first and second photoelectric convertors respectively responsive to the light transmitted from the frame sensing mark and from light transmitted by a light emitter to generate respective first and second output signals, whereby the light emission received by the second photoelectric convertor is unaffected by movement of the microfilm such that the second output signal is a reference level signal. The first and second output signals are compared to generate a control signal representing the sensing of a frame when the first output signal exceeds the second output signal. A circuit may be used to filter the noise detected by the second photoelectric convertor.
