    • Disclosed herein is an adapter for a three-dimensional moving image photographing device. The adapter comprises a lens unit and a half-reflecting mirror. The lens unit comprises entrance and exit lens parts, each of which includes release lenses disposed in the middle of the lens unit. The entrance and exit lens parts are arranged symmetrically to each other. The lens unit has an entrance pupil point formed outside the entrance lens part. The half-reflecting mirror is disposed on a light axis of a photographing lens between a first total reflecting mirror and the lens unit while being inclined at a prescribed angle relative to the light axis for reflecting a moving image having been introduced along a second light axis and reflected by a second total reflecting mirror, and transmitting a moving image having been introduced along a third light axis and reflected by a third total reflecting mirror and the first total reflecting mirror.

    • Photographic film including a flexible substrate sheet divided on one side into a multiplicity of different picture areas provided with respective layers of photosensitive chemical material having a plurality of different photosensitivities. Thus, each sheet or strip of film is essentially multiple ASA film. Such a film strip is provided with detectible code on a substrate sheet for encoding the photosensitivities of the different picture areas in a readable format. A camera utilizing the film is provided with a magnetic reader for determining film speeds or photosensitivities of the different picture areas on the film. A film transport mechanism is controlled by a microprocessor to move an unexposed picture area of an appropriate ASA to an exposure zone of the camera, either in response to a manually selected ASA or an automatic determination of optimal film speed in accordance with lighting conditions as detected by a light sensor, subject distance, etc. The microprocessor includes a memory for storing in encoded form which picture areas of the film have been exposed.

    • A method is provided for obtaining images for use in displaying a three-dimensional illusion which includes the step of obtaining first and second images of a subject volume having foreground and background portions with the points of origin of those images located in a first plane which includes left and right points of origin of an observer of the subject volume and which is normal to the optical axis of that observer. The first and second points of origin are also respectively located equidistant above and below a first line interconnecting the left and right points of origin and are located along a second line which is normal to and bisects the first line. The first and second optical axes are aligned to converge in a second plane parallel to the first plane which includes the foreground portion of the subject volume within the field of view of the observer which is closest to the first plane. A support apparatus is provided for using one or two imaging devices in implementing the method of the subject invention and an alternative support apparatus is disclosed which incorporates a teeter-totter arrangement to automatically provide for maintenance of convergence of the optical axes in the second plane upon adjustment of the effective first and second points of origin above and below the first line connecting the left and right points of origin of the observer. Image recording medium containing images produced by the above method is also disclosed.

    • An apparatus for three-dimensional photography provides left and right eye images alternately along the lens axis of a camera for recording alternately on a film strip. The left and right eye images are received along spaced first and second axes separated by a distance substantially consistent with the interocular distance of natural eyes, and are resolved alternately along the lens axis of the camera. Lens assemblies are provided for each eye image to provide a horizontal spread of between 40.degree. and 60.degree. which substantially matches the natural horizontal field of vision. The convergence of the first and second axes is adjustable. The camera may be provided with a viewfinder in which the left and right eye images are separated out again.

    • A stereoscopic projecting apparatus has a polyhedral prism and two types of polarizing filters which are arranged at the incident (or emerging) planes of the prism and which have orthogonal deflecting directions. Left and right-eye pictures are alternately formed on the consecutive frames of a cinefilm. The cinefilm is driven in such a way as to cross the projection region of light emitted from a lamp. An optical image transmitted from the cinefilm is projected onto a screen by the polyhedral prism, through a relay lens, a projection lens or the like. The left and right-eye images are deflected in directions 90.degree. apart from each other, by the polarizing filters at the respective incident or emerging planes of the prism. A viewer can stereoscopically observe the image superimposed on the screen, using polarized viewing glasses having polarized lenses deflected in the deflecting directions of the images.
