    • A battery-powered tool includes: a housing, a driven element supported by the housing, an electric motor coupled to the driven element so as to drive the driven element, a battery electrically coupled to the motor so as to supply electric current to the motor and a control circuit arranged to control the supply of electric current to the motor from the battery. The control circuit includes a main switch operable by a user and an auxiliary switch also operable by a user. The control circuit has an active state in which operation of the main switch by the user allows electric current to flow to the motor to cause the driven element to be driven; and an inactive state in which operation of the main switch does not allow electric current to flow to the motor and so the motor does not drive the driven element. Operation of the auxiliary switch causes the control circuit to change between the active and inactive states.

    • Battery packs include a battery pack housing, at least one battery release member held by the battery housing, a (blind) latch held by the battery pack housing in communication with the battery release member that releaseably locks the battery pack to a device, and a tactile feedback mechanism that is held by the battery pack housing and is in communication with the battery release member. The tactile feedback mechanism generates a tactile feedback that reduces or increases an application force required by a user to manually actuate the at least one release member. The tactile feedback transmitted through the at least one battery release member. The tactile feedback is generated when the at least one release member has been manually actuated by the user a sufficient distance to allow the user to easily remove the battery pack from the device.

    • A tool for drilling, tapping, and back spot facing a hole in dynamoelectric machines includes a servo motor cutting device and a drill unit skid. The servo motor cutting device includes a cutting tool. The drill unit skid engages a hook fit slot in a case of the dynamoelectric machine and supports the servo motor cutting device. The drill unit skid includes hook fit slides configured to guide the drill unit skid along the hook fit slot and act as a stop in a radial direction. The tool includes a laser positioning device configured to detect the position of the cutting tool, and a micro switch configured to stop the servo motor cutting device when the micro switch activates. The servo motor cutting device rotates the cutting tool to create the hole, and a rotor of the dynamoelectric machine is left in place during drilling, tapping and back spot facing.

    • In a power tool, a housing is composed of two divisional housings to be combined together; two receptacle blocks are provided on inner surfaces of the two divisional housings, respectively, and configured to protrude opposite to each other from the inner surfaces of the two divisional housings to surround an electric component and to hold the electric component in place when the two divisional housings are combined together into the housing; and a seal layer of an elastic material is formed integrally with one or each of the two receptacle blocks. The seal layer formed on a first receptacle block is pressed against a second receptacle block or another seal layer formed on the second receptacle block to provide sealing between opposed surfaces of the two receptacle blocks when the two divisional housings are combined together.
