摘要： The invention is concerned with an anhydrous oily lubricant, which is based on vegetable oils, which is substituted for mineral lubricant oils, and which, as its main component, contains triglycerides that are esters of saturated and/or unsaturated straight-chained C.sub.10 to C.sub.22 fatty acids and glycerol. The lubricant is characterized in that it contains at least 70 percent by weight of a triglyceride whose iodine number is at least 50 and no more than 125 and whose viscosity index is at least 190. As its basic component, instead of or along with the said triglyceride, the lubricant oil may also contain a polymer prepared by hot-polymerization out of the said triglyceride or out of a corresponding triglyceride. As additives, the lubricant oil may contain solvents, fatty-acid derivatives, in particular their metal salts, organic or inorganic, natural or synthetic polymers, and customary additives for lubricants.

摘要： A process for preparing a fluid for traction drive from a fraction containing compounds having at least four aromatic rings is disclosed. The fraction is a by-product produced at the time of the preparation of alpha-methyl-benzylalkylbenzenes by alkylation of at least one compound selected from C.sub.7 -C.sub.10 alkylbenzenes with styrene in the presence of an acid catalyst. The process comprises the steps of decomposing the fraction in an atmosphere of hydrogen at a predetermined temperature and pressure, collecting a decomposition product having a boiling range not higher than 450.degree. C. and then subjecting the decomposition product to nuclear hydrogenation at aromatic rings thereof in the presence of a catalyst capable of nuclear hydrogenation.

The additives are various metal salts of mono- or dicarboxylic acids, anhydrides, esters, etc., which have been substituted with a high molecular weight hydrocarbon group, and derivatives thereof. The high molecular weight hydrocarbon group has a number average-molecular weight (M.sub.n) of greater than about 900. The metal salt additives are especially useful in combination with certain grafted ethylene-olefin copolymers or copolymers of 4-vinyl pyridine and esters of aliphatic mono-, di- or polycarboxylic acids as viscosifying agents.

摘要： The present invention is directed toward a method for preparing Group II metal overbased sulfurized alkylphenols. In particular, the present invention employs a sulfurization catalyst in the preparation of Group II metal overbased sulfurized alkylphenols. Use of a sulfurization catalyst in this preparation results in a product generally characterized as having lower crude sediment, a higher Total Base Number and lower viscosity than a similar product prepared without using a sulfurization catalyst.
