    • The present invention teaches a method and apparatus to quickly and inexpensively implement advanced filtration to engines and systems using spin-on oil filter by using a system adapter sandwiched between the spin-on oil filter and the engine block affixed by a nipple adapter. The system adapter has the ability to make quick hydraulic connection to the inlet and outlet of a bypass grade or advanced filter, where oil is super cleaned, without modifications to the engine as is the paradigm by traditional bypass filtration systems and without removing any lubricant from the engine or system that the present invention is connected to, as is the paradigm of traditional bypass filtering systems. A differential pressure between said inlet and outlet side of the advanced filter is complemented by a Venturi effect made possible by the special architecture of the nipple adapter as oil rushes through the nipple adapter to the lubricating galleries of an engine or system, further aided by the kinetic energy of the lubricant passing through the system adapter. These effects are supplemented by a controlled system that can increase said differential pressure by a spring biased diaphragm or stopper or through a plurality of solenoid biased plunger control system to ensure bypass filtration flow during loaded conditions. When connected to the normally provided stud for the spin-on oil filter in an engine or system, the net effect of interest to the present invention is that by simply placing the adapter at the point of connection of the spin-on oil filter, many of the necessary plumbing associated with the traditional bypass filter installation is obviated, as is the energy and labor intensive process of seeking for a pressure point and a return of the oil. Where the benefits of fine filtration are available to the general public due to its easy and quick installation, size, functionality, eliminated plumbing and reduced labor requirements. The system includes accessories to alarm for no flow condition, plugged filters, heat exchangers, oil condition sensor, booster pumping, prelubrication, oil evacuation, oil additive makeup, parallel connection of coolers and other apparatus, among others.

    • A liquid reclamation assembly is provided for processing a lubricant or other liquid. The assembly includes a housing interior for receiving a filter subassembly. A manifold is in fluid communication with a discharge region of the filter subassembly, the manifold comprising a primary manifold passage for passage of source fluid and a series of draw ports. The cross sectional area of the primary manifold passage is greater than the total cross sectional area of the series of draw ports to create a venturi effect to draw fluid through the assembly. The filter subassembly includes a series of target filtration segment, each segment being designed for a specific reclamation process. An entry manifold governs and distributes the fluid to each of the target filtration segments. Results of an analysis of the fluid can be used to determine which target filtration segments are desired for processing the fluid. Valves within the entry manifold can direct the flow accordingly.

    • A power steering fluid filter includes a housing that defines an interior chamber, an inlet port communicating with the upstream end of the interior chamber, and an outlet port communicating with the downstream end of the interior chamber. A movable thimble filter is disposed within the housing and an annular magnet is located at the mouth of the thimble filter. A spring biases the thimble filter and magnet toward the inlet port of the housing. In use, power steering fluid passes through the housing and debris is captured by the thimble filter. Ferrous particles entrained in the fluid flow are attracted to and captured by the magnet. When the thimble filter becomes clogged, it is displaced by the pressure of the fluid against the clogged filter so that fluid can flow around and bypass the thimble filter while still being exposed to the magnet for removing ferrous particles.

    • A filtration system includes a filter assembly removably coupled with a manifold. The coupling of the filter assembly coupled with the manifold aligns an intake port of the filter assembly with an inlet tube of the manifold and communicates a flow tube of the filter assembly with an exit tube of the manifold. The filter assembly pushes a shut-off valve of the manifold from its normally closed position to its open position. Liquid then flows into the filter assembly from the inlet tube of the manifold and filtered liquid flows into exit tube of the manifold from the flow tube of the filter assembly. The filter assembly further pushes a pressure relief valve of the manifold from its normally open position to its closed position.
