摘要： Automated pre-implant screening for candidate recipients of implantable medical devices. A set of cutaneous electrodes placed on a patient transcutaneously capture a cardiac signal using a screening device coupled to the electrodes. A first beat rate may be determined by identifying individual R-waves, QRS complexes or cardiac cycles from the captured cardiac signal using the cutaneous electrodes. A second beat rate may be calculated using one of several different methods, for example, by optical measurement, by monitoring heart sounds, by a second electric cardiac signal analysis, or by using an implanted device. The rates are compared to one another and, if a match is identified, the patient is deemed well suited to receive a particular device.

The electrocardiography system includes a signal processing unit, with filters and amplifiers, which is electrically connected to the sensor arrangement. The electrocardiography system includes a signal evaluation unit connected via a first signal input to the signal processing unit. The signal evaluation unit processes one or more prepared ECG signals provided by the signal processing unit in order to recover an electrocardiogram signal and to display the electrocardiogram signal. The signal evaluation unit includes a second signal input that receives secondary signals obtained by body sensors or monitors, wherein the signal evaluation unit processes the prepared ECG signals depending on the secondary signals.

摘要： A system for monitoring cleaning and sanitization efforts of care givers using stethoscopes including one or more sanitizing and cleaning stations capable of cleaning and sanitizing a head portion of a stethoscope presented thereto. The system includes an identification apparatus operably associated with each of a plurality of stethoscopes. The identification apparatus serves to identify a particular stethoscope and, thus, a particular care provider. An apparatus for detecting each time a particular stethoscope is presented to a sanitizing and cleaning station for effecting a cleaning and sanitization event forms part of the system. An analysis unit is operably connected to each identification apparatus and detecting apparatus and is configured for calculating the cleanliness and sanitization level of each stethoscope as a function of the number of cleaning and sanitization events detected by the detecting apparatus. A method for monitoring cleaning and sanitization efforts of care providers is also disclosed.

Monitoring of such heart sound related parameters allows the cardiac rhythm management system to determine a need for delivering a therapy and/or therapy parameter adjustments based on conditions of a heart. 摘要： The present invention is an esophageal stethoscope with a temperature sensor and earpiece. An esophageal stethoscope has a tube with a first end and a second end, where a sound-transmitting hydrophobic cuff covers the first end of the tube. The first end of the tube has a plurality of lateral openings and a thermistor extending from the first end but within the cuff. The second end of the tube is attached to a connector and has a temperature sensor sub-assembly that extends out of the second end and is connected to the thermistor. A monoscope tube is attached to the connector at a first end and has a memory foam earpiece at a second end. The monoscope tube also preferably has a clip near the earpiece. To facilitate sound transmission, monoscope tubes of different ID sizes are used.
