摘要： A puncture assistance device for use in connection with an ultrasound probe to guide a Veress needle through the layers of the wall into a bodily cavity is provided. The puncture assistance device comprises a tenaculum-like forceps, a needle guide body provided with a slot for guiding the Veress needle within the scan plane of the ultrasound probe, attachment means to the ultrasound probe, and attachment means of the needle guide to the tenaculum-like forceps. Also provided is a balloon catheter for use as a retractor in gaining access into the abdominal cavity, presenting at its distal end an inflatable balloon membrane and an framework of non-distendable flexible fibers disposed in a specific arrangement. A method access the abdominal cavity with the aid of said devices under ultrasound guidance is also provided.

摘要： A trocar set includes a handle portion, a first sleeve, a second sleeve, a gas tight assembly, and a pull band. A connection part of the handle portion extends from a grip and includes an assembling channel. The first sleeve includes an assembling end, a sleeving end, a first outer sleeve wall, and a fastening component. The assembling end is assembled to the assembling channel, and the fastening component is disposed at the sleeving end and contacts the first outer sleeve wall. A sleeving end of the second sleeve is inserted into the receiving end, and the second inner sleeve wall contacts the fastening component. A gas tight sleeve of the gas tight assembly encloses the receiving end and the blocking component. An outer wall of the gas tight sleeve is provided with a plurality of crossing channels. The pulling band crosses the crossing channel.

摘要： A collapsible scaffolding can collapse for deployment to a laparoscopic surgical site through a trocar or the like, and can expand to provide a surface for organ retraction within a body cavity. In the expanded state, the scaffolding may assist a surgical procedure in a variety of ways, such as by providing a rigid structure upon which to secure retracted organs or surgical tools such as lights, cameras, and so forth.

摘要： A device for producing a pneumoperitoneum in a medical procedure includes a main body having a ring portion defining a main opening, and a domed portion extending from the ring portion to an apex. The ring portion is adapted to form a positive seal with the skin of the patient upon application of a suction force within the main body abutting the patient. The device includes a suction port extending from the domed portion of the main body and is configured to facilitate application of the suction within the main body. The access port is operably engaged with the domed portion of the main body proximate to the apex and is adapted to receive a surgical instrument therethrough. A pair of opposed grips operably engaged with the domed portion of the main body is adapted to facilitate one-handed application and removal of the main body with respect to the patient.

The method comprises the steps of inserting the device (1) through the capsule (3) and into the joint (2), allowing the traction element (10) to protrude, and pulling the traction element (10) so that the plate (6) exerts an intra-articular traction of the capsule (3) tissues, creating a space (13) under the plate (6). The formation of this space (13) helps to improve visibility inside the joint (2) without the need for extensive incisions in the capsule (3). Therefore, the capsule (3) is less damaged after the arthroscopy and post-operative complications are minimized for the patient.

In general, the device includes any type of elongate sleeve (e.g., a trocar) having an inner lumen. Further, the device includes a tissue retraction mechanism configured to extend from a distal end of the sleeve wherein the tissue retraction mechanism is configured to securely engage a cavity wall such that in response to a retraction force the mechanism can pull the cavity wall over the distal end of the sleeve thereby positioning the sleeve across the cavity wall. Additionally, various embodiments of a method for providing access to a body cavity are also provided herein.
