A group of fibers having a fiber diameter of 5.0 μm or less (fiber group A) is present at a volume fraction of 20 to 80 vol %, a group of fibers having a fiber diameter of 50.0 μm or more (fiber group B) is present at a volume fraction of 1 to 40 vol %, and a group of fibers having a fiber diameter of more than 5.0 μm and less than 50.0 μm (fiber group C) is present at a volume fraction of 0 to 79 vol %. The ratio of the median fiber diameter (B′) of fiber group B to the median fiber diameter (A′) of fiber group A (B′/A′) is 35 or more.

The filter material is impregnated with a binder on only one side such that the opposite side is free of the binder and the content of the dried binder is 0.5 to 50 wt. % of the total weight of the filter material. Using the filter material according to the invention, a high degree of separation is achieved while maintaining a long service life. The invention further relates to a filter element which comprises the filter material according to the invention. Further aspects of the invention relate to the use of the filter material according to the invention in order to filter liquids and to a method for separating two non-mixable liquids, said liquids being conducted through the filter material according to the invention.

The presence of the interlay in the filter element can create additional surface area within the contiguous construction of a filter element for filtration. This interlay can also create the ability to change direction of flow and to increase the deposition of specifically sized contaminants.

The mandrel has a small-diameter portion located at the inlet of the forming tube, a large-diameter portion located at the outlet of the forming tube, and a diameter expansion portion located between the small- and large-diameter portions. The diameter expansion portion is located downstream of the heat treating section as viewed in the moving direction of the filter tow.

摘要： An RF inductor such as a Tesla antenna splices nanotube ends together to form a nanostructure in a polymer foam matrix. High Internal Phase Emulsion (HIPE) is gently sheared and stretched in a reactor comprising opposed coaxial counter-rotating impellers, which parallel-align polymer chains and also carbon nanotubes mixed with the oil phase. Stretching and forced convection prevent the auto-acceleration effect. Batch and continuous processes are disclosed. In the batch process, a fractal radial array of coherent vortices in the HIPE is preserved when the HIPE polymerizes, and helical nanostructures around these vortices are spliced by microhammering into longer helices. A disk radial filter produced by the batch process has improved radial flux from edge to center due to its area-preserving radial vascular network. In the continuous process, strips of HIPE are pulled from the periphery of the reactor continuously and post-treated by an RF inductor to produce cured conductive foam.
