摘要： Articles and methods relating to filter media are generally provided. In some embodiments, a filter media has an irregular surface structure. For instance, the filter media may comprise a plurality of peaks that are irregular in one or more ways. A ratio of a peak height standard deviation to an average peak height may be greater than or equal to 0.05, and/or a ratio of a peak spacing standard deviation to an average peak spacing may be greater than or equal to 0.08. In some embodiments, a filter media comprises a non-woven fiber web having a layer thickness of greater than 0.3 mm and/or a stiffness of less than or equal to 100 mg.

摘要： A thermally bonded filtration media that can be used in high temperature conditions in the absence of any loss of fiber through thermal effects or mechanical impact on the fiber components is disclosed. The filter media can be manufactured and used in a filter unit or structure, can be placed in a stream of removable fluid, and can remove a particulate load from the mobile stream at an increased temperature range. The combination of bi-component fiber, other filter media fiber, and other filtration additives provides an improved filtration media having unique properties in high temperature, high performance applications.

摘要： This disclosure relates to the use of a hydrophobic hollow fiber filter for the filtration of cell cultures and other biological perfusions, due to its resistance to fouling, as well as the ability to filter solutions with a high solid content. A hydrophobic hollow fiber filter may be used within a filter housing in conjunction with a process vessel and a traditional separation system. When the system is used with alternating tangential flow or tangential flow filtration, the hydrophobic hollow fiber filter results in more effective filtration of the filtrate, leading to greater concentration of the retentate, even in solution containing high levels of solids.

摘要： High efficiency and high capacity glass-free filtration media include a blend of synthetic non-fibrillated staple fibers and fibrillated cellulosic staple fibers, wherein the fibrillated cellulosic fibers are present in the media in an amount to achieve an overall filtration efficiency at 4 microns of 95% or higher and a ratio of filtration capacity to media caliper of 0.5 mg/in2/mils and greater. The filtration media is made by forming a wet laid sheet from a fibrous slurry blend of the synthetic non-fibrillated staple fibers and fibrillated cellulosic staple fibers, followed by drying the sheet to obtain the filtration media. Optionally, the filtration media may be provided with a resin binder and may be grooved and/or pleated.

The filter media has a blend of filter media fibers, including oxidized polyacrylonitrile (OPAN) fibers and fibers of at least one other polymer, such that the OPAN fibers comprise between 30% and 95% by weight of the blend. A filter element incorporating the filter media is also provided. A method of using the filter element is provided as well. Also provided is a method of manufacturing the filter media. The filter media has applicability for filtering air in such acidic environments as a cement factory, lime kiln, asphalt process, rock dust application, and coal fired boilers.

摘要： A porous panel with a surface area of at least 0.5 m2 has a first layer of metal fibers of an average equivalent diameter between 8 and 65 μm. The cross-section of the metal fibers has two neighboring straight sides with an included angle of less than 90° and one or more irregularly shaped curved sides. The metal fibers are bonded to each other by metal bonds; where the metal of the metal fibers of the first layer is the bonding agent forming the metal bonds. The filter has a second layer of metal fibers. The average equivalent diameter of the metal fibers of the second layer is smaller than the average equivalent diameter of the metal fibers of the first layer. The first layer and the second layer are bonded to each other by metal bonds.
