    • A liquid medicine injection device has an upper member, a lower member, and a sealing member between both members. The lower member has a part, for pressing a peripheral portion of the sealing member, formed of an upper surface of an annular wall part and an annular edge part at an inner side of the part for pressing the peripheral portion of the sealing member. An upper-surface side of a flange part of the sealing member is pressed by the upper member, and an outer-edge portion of a lower-surface side of the flange part is pressed by the part for pressing the peripheral portion with the annular edge part in penetration into an inner-edge portion of the lower-surface side of the flange part. An outer peripheral surface of the lower end of a part to be inserted into the lower member contacts an inner surface of the annular wall part.

    • An intravenous injection site having a split septum assembly interfit with the site for the intravenous administration of fluids to a patient. The split septum assembly has a resilient and compressible split septum having an axially-formed slit for receipt of a blunt cannula, needle, or other medical device through said slit, a septum holder for receipt of the split septum, and a septum housing for receipt of the combined septum holder and split septum. The septum includes a body and a flange extending radially from the body. A projection extends from the flange. The septum is mounted within the septum holder, and the septum holder is mounted within the septum housing to provide axial compression of the flange. This axial compression presents a double hermetic seal that significantly minimizes or prevents proximal leakage of fluid through the slit or around the septum holder when the cannula is removed.

    • An implantable pump for pumping fluid to or from a hydraulic surgical implant inside a human's or an animal's body comprises a wall forming a chamber for the fluid, the wall including a base plate and a membrane, which is displaceable relative to the base plate to change the volume of the chamber to pump the fluid between the chamber and the surgical implant. The membrane is penetrable by an injection needle to add hydraulic fluid to or withdraw hydraulic fluid from the chamber, in order to calibrate the amount of fluid, and the membrane is self-sealing to seal the hole which is formed in the membrane by the penetrating injection needle. The implant typically is a hydraulic constriction device, which can be designed for treating reflux disease, urinary incontinence, impotence, anal incontinence or obesity.
