    • Generally described herein are apparatus, systems and methods related to a pre-loaded septum insertable in an access port housing for increasing the control of the compression within the septum and the interference between the septum and the housing. For example, a pair of washers having mating portions may be positioned on respective sides of a rubber septum and bent such that the mating portions of one of the washer are interlocked with the mating portions of the other washer, the interlocked portions forming a tight ring about the septum and generating lateral compression on the septum, thereby “loading” the septum. In addition, fluid seals made of a rubber material with lower durometer than the rubber septum may be used at the interface between the rubber septum and the housing to enhance the fluid sealing functionality while promoting the self-sealing features of the rubber septum.

    • An implantable injection port facilitates filling and/or draining an inflatable portion of a gastric band. In an embodiment, the port comprises a movable cap that causes anchor wires to extend from anchor devices in order to implant the injection port in the tissue of a patient. In another embodiment, the port comprises a handle that rotates to implant curved anchors into the tissue of a patient. In yet another embodiment, a cap is configured to move towards a base of the port in order to cause the curved anchors to rotate into the tissue of a patient. The cap may also rotate with respect to the base in order to lock the cap and the anchors in position. Further, surfaces of the injection port may be textured to increase adhesiveness to the patient's tissue during installation and to facilitate simpler installation.

    • An anchor sleeve for securing a therapy delivery element, such as a stimulation lead or catheter, within a living body, that includes an inner sleeve with pre-formed locations of weakness that facilitate localized deformation. The anchor includes a deformable outer sleeve with a primary lumen extending along an axis. The outer surface of the outer sleeve includes a plurality of suture grooves oriented generally concentric to the axis. The inner sleeve includes a plurality of beams connected at deflection regions arranged around a secondary lumen. The inner sleeve is located in the primary lumen adjacent to the suture grooves so that the secondary lumen is generally concentric with the primary lumen. A plurality of locations of weakness are preformed in each of the beams to facilitate localized deformation in response to a radially inward force applied around the suture grooves by a suture material.
