    • In a variable nozzle hole area type fuel injection nozzle using a rotary valve a drive arrangement of the rotary valve (7) comprises an actuator (9) mounted to the nozzle holder proper and a drive shaft (8) extending through an axial hole (43a) of the needle valve (4) and having its lower end reaching the vicinity of the lower end of the needle valve (4) and a coupling shaft (10) positioned inside a control hole (45) provided in the lower end of the needle valve (4) and as well as performing a torque transmitting function the coupling shaft (10) has a leak passage (10f) and a seat portion (10c) so that it can perform a valve function for controlling termination of a pilot injection and separately from the actuator there is provided a driving mechanism (14) for forcibly moving the coupling shaft (10) in the axial direction while the needle valve (4) is open to end the action of the seat portion (10c).

    • A paper coating composition comprising (I) a pigment, (II) an aqueous binder, and (III) a water-soluble resin obtainable by the reaction of at least (a) an alkylenediamine or a polyalkylenepolyamine, (b) an urea compound, and (c) a compound selected from aldehydes, epihalohydrins and is further improved by incorporating therein, (IV) a compound selected from the group consisting of (f) amines selected from the group consisting of monoamines, diamines and their salts each having at least 4 carbon atoms, (g) quaternary organic ammonium salts, and (h) polyamides obtainable by the reaction between a dibasic carboxylic compound and a polyamine. The water-soluble resin of the component (III) may be further allowed to react with a dibasic carboxylic compound, an alicyclic amine and/or an alicyclic epoxy compound in addition to the above three ingredients. Paper coated by using the above composition is especially excellent in ink receptivity and water resistance.

    • A plurality of injection holes are circumferentially arranged in the peripheral wall of the hole at predetermined intervals and at axially different circumferential levels in the leading end portion of the nozzle body to introduce pressurized fuel, and the injection holes at each circumferential level are set different in diameter. On the other hand, a rotary valve has a plurality of fuel guide holes each corresponding to the injection holes at the respective circumferential levels.
