摘要： In an electrophotographic image forming apparatus of the type including a plurality of image carriers arranged along an image transfer belt and an image transferring device configured to transfer toner images of different colors from the image carriers to a sheet being conveyed by an image transfer belt or by way of the image transfer belt by applying a bias to the belt, a bias applying method of the present invention can measure a current leaking between a plurality of high-tension power supply sections or to the ends thereof as AC resistances between respective terminals and therefore to accurately measure the leak currents of DC components. Therefore, when relatively high DC components are selected, a difference in current between a plurality of power supply sections can be maintained constant.

A plurality of such the monocolor image forming unit is arrayed laterally along the rotary transport direction of an intermediate transfer member of the belt type to configure a tandem image forming device. In the tandem image forming device, a synthesized toner image is formed on the intermediate transfer member and transferred to a recording medium to form a multicolor image thereon. Among the plurality of monocolor image forming unit contained in the tandem image forming device, at least two monocolor image forming unit each include a toner recycling device for conveying toner collected at the image carrier cleaning device to the developing device.

摘要： An image forming apparatus includes a transfer device to transfer an image on an image carrier to a transfer sheet. The transfer device includes a transfer roller and transfers an image on the image carrier to a transfer sheet conveyed into a transfer area between the transfer roller and the image carrier by applying a bias voltage to the transfer roller. The transfer device includes a device to apply a release agent for an alien substance to a surface of the transfer roller. Toner and an alien substance, such as paper dust, thereby hardly adheres to the release agent applied on the surface of the transfer roller. Even if toner and/or an alien substance are put on the release agent applied on the surface of the transfer roller, such toner and/or an alien substance are easily removed by a cleaning device. Thus, lowering of an image quality due to insufficient cleaning of the transfer roller is avoided.

Therefore, an image with a minimum of toner scattering is achievable.

摘要： A picture design forming operation detects an adhering amount of toner by an optical sensor in an image forming apparatus. Image forming conditions are controlled on the basis of the detection result and a toner image is formed on a member. The toner image is then transferred to a transferring substance. The transferring substance is then attached to a picture design forming object and is sintered in this state. Further, a light absorbing material which has absorbency to light of a wavelength used in the optical sensor is contained in the toner, and resolves at least at a temperature of the sintering process.

摘要： There is provided a polymer composition consisting essentially of 95-50 wt% of a methyl methacrylate homopolymer or copolymer component and 5-50 wt% of a cross-linked elastomer obtained by copolymerizing a mixture of stated amounts of (I) alkyl acrylate, (II) allyl acrylate and/or allyl methacrylate and (III) benzyl acrylate, the elastomer having a stated average particle size and a stated extent of cross-linking. The polymer composition comprises (1) a graft copolymer obtained by polymerizing methyl methacrylate or its mixture in the presence of the above elastomer; or (2) a blend of the above graft copolymer and a methyl methacrylate homopolymer or copolymer. The polymer composition provides shaped articles exhibiting good transparency over a broad range of temperature as well as good weather resistance and impact resistance.
