    • A compressor includes a housing, a compression mechanism, an input shaft rotatable on an axis thereof, an output shaft for driving the compression mechanism, a transmission for transmitting torque from the input shaft to the output shaft and changing the speed of the input shaft and a control device. The transmission is a planetary roller train and includes a plurality of planetary rollers, a carrier, a sun roller and a ring roller. The ring roller includes a first ring engaging the respective planetary rollers and a second ring supporting a one-way clutch. The ring roller can be movable relative to the housing in the direction parallel to the axis. The first ring and the second ring are connected so that the first ring can be displaced in a radial direction, integrally rotatable with the second ring and movable with the second ring in the direction parallel to the axis.

    • A swash plate type compressor has a housing assembly, a drive shaft, a swash plate, a piston, a motion converter, a bleed passage, and an oil separator. The housing assembly includes a cylinder bore, a suction chamber, a discharge chamber, and a crank chamber. The drive shaft is rotatably supported by the housing assembly, and extends through the crank chamber. The bleed passage communicates between the crank chamber and the suction chamber. The oil separator is disposed in the housing assembly. The oil separator separates no or less amount of lubricating oil from the refrigerant gas in the increased rotational speed of the drive shaft than that in the decreased rotational speed of the drive shaft. The refrigerant gas passed through the oil separator is introduced into the suction chamber, and the separated lubricating oil is returned to the crank chamber.

The passage heat-insulating member made of an insulating material covers at least a portion of a passage wall surface which forms the communication passage. Rotation of the cylindrical member is prevented by engaging the passage heat-insulating member with the cylindrical member.

    • The object of the present invention is to offer a structure of a suction valve enough to prevent a noise or clatter caused by vibrations of a suction valve in a variable displacement compressor having pistons. The suction valve is a bendable flexible valve composed of flexible portions, and of a closing portion placed adjoining to the flexible portions to form a free end to close a suction port. The lengths of the flexible portions of the suction valve are nearly equal, but the widths of the flexible portions of the suction valve are different each other. And the distance between the suction valve and a receiving portion which regulates maximum opening degree, is determined so that the lower bending flexibility side of the flexible portions contacts the receiving portion from the beginning or as soon as the suction valve starts to open, and that the higher bending flexibility side of the flexible portions approaches the receiving portion with the lower bending flexibility side of the flexible portion contacting the receiving portion, while the suction valve is twisted.
