    • Methods and systems are provided for partitioning data of a database or data store into several independent parts as part of a data mining process. The methods and systems use a mining application having content-based partitioning logic to partition the data. Once the data is partitioned, the partitioned data may be grouped and distributed to an associated processor for further processing. The mining application and content-based partitioning logic may be used in a computing system, including shared memory and distributed memory multi-processor computing systems. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

    • A master computing node directs parallel structure learning with intelligent computational task distribution. The master computing node may determine what families are to be used to score neighbors in a neighbor scoring process, and determine if the families have scores in a score cache. Families to be scored for the score cache may be marked and distributed for calculation among nodes in the computing cluster. The score cache may be updated to include the scored families, and the cluster synchronized with the score cache data.

    • A plan for executing a query in a relational database is obtained. A query for accessing data in the relational database is received. The query specifies N tables in the relational database from which data is to be retrieved. A determination is made whether a syntax of the query matches a syntax of a plan in a plan cache for executing the query. Matches are identified between generic table formats of the N tables specified in the query to generic table formats of N tables specified in the plan responsive to the syntax of the query matching the syntax of a plan in the plan cache for executing the query. The plan for executing the query is obtained based on whether the syntax of the query matches the syntax of the plan and based on identified matches between the generic table formats of the N tables specified in the query to the generic table formats of the N tables specified in the plan.

    • A MagnetoRheolocial Fluid Elastic (MRFE) lag damper system for adaptive lead-lag damping of helicopter main rotors. Embodiments include snubber dampers especially for hingeless helicopter rotors, and concentric bearing dampers. The snubber lag dampers include a flexible snubber body defining a cavity, a flexible or rigid interior (e.g., center) wall subdividing the cavity, and a flow valve in the interior wall or external to the cavity. The flexible snubber body may comprise elastomeric materials and metal rings stacked together to create a sealed MR fluid cavity. The shear deformation of the snubber body induces MR fluid flow through the valve, controlled by a magnetic field in the valve. An MRFE concentric bearing damper is also disclosed, comprising a pair of concentric tubes with elastomeric material injected and cured in an annular gap between the two tubes, and an MR fluid reservoir with piston-mounted MR valve housed inside the innermost tube.
