The ketoximo silane corresponds to Formula I: where D is selected from a C1 to C60 hydrocarbyl group, or when A is 0 or 1 a hydrogen, or the structure in Formula III; and wherein n and j are independently 1, 2, or 3, m and q are independently 0 or 1, z and t are independently 0 or 1 and (n+m+z) is equal to 3 and (j+q+t) is equal to 3; A is 0 or greater than or equal to 1; R1 and R2 are independently Ci to C60 divalent organic groups and may optionally include O, N S, Si, and/or P heteroatoms with the proviso that when A is 0 either of R1 and R2 may be a chemical bond; R3, R4, R8 and R9 are independently a hydrogen, or a C1 to C60 hydrocarbyl or alkoxy group optionally including O, N, S, Si and/or P; R5 and R6 are independently hydrogen or C1 to C60 hydrocarbyl groups and may optionally include O, N S, Si, and/or P heteroatoms, and may optionally be bonded together to form a cyclic ring; R10 and R11 are independently hydrogen or C1 to C60 hydrocarbyl groups and may optionally include O, N S, Si, and/or P heteroatoms, and may optionally be bonded together to form a cyclic ring.

摘要： A tread rubber composition having improved abrasion resistance is provided. The tread rubber composition comprises a conjugated diene polymer or copolymer, at least one filler, from 2 to 10 phr of liquid polybutadiene, from 2 to 5 phr of zinc oxide and from 1 to 100 phr of process oil. The liquid polybutadiene is functionalized by reaction with unsaturated acid anhydride, has a number average molecular weight of from 3 to 8 kg/mol and an acid number of from 40 to 80. Also provided are methods for preparing the tread rubber composition comprising mixing of the foregoing ingredients by master-batch and final batch steps whereby the abrasion resistance of the tread rubber composition is improved.

摘要： Methods of forming blocked-mercapto alkoxy-modified silsesquioxanes are provided. The blocked-mercapto alkoxy-modified silsesquioxane compounds contain an alkoxysilane group that participates in an alkoxysilane-silica reaction as a silica dispersing agent in rubber, with the release of zero to about 0.1% by weight of the rubber as alcohol (a volatile organic compound (VOC)), during compounding and further processing. The blocked-mercapto alkoxy-modified silsesquioxane compounds also contain a blocked mercapto group which, when de-blocked, allows the mercapto group to interact with the polymer(s) in a rubber composition. Further described are rubber compounds containing the blocked-mercapto alkoxy-modified silsesquioxanes.

摘要： A method for determining the styrene microblock content of a copolymer sample, the method comprising: (i) pyrolyzing the copolymer sample to form polymer fragments of the polymer sample; (ii) analyzing the fragments to determine the relative amounts of styrene monomer fragments, styrene dimer fragments, and styrene trimer fragments, where the relative amounts of the fragments include the amount of any given fragment relative to the total of the monomer fragments, dimer fragments, and trimer fragments; and (iii) using the relative amounts of the styrene monomer fragments, styrene dimer fragments, and styrene trimer fragments to predict the polystyrene microblock content from a mathematical model that is based upon the relative styrene monomer fragments, relative styrene dimer fragments, relative styrene trimer fragments, and microblock content of a copolymer having known microblock content.

摘要： A vulcanizable rubber composition is provided that comprises an elastomer, a reinforcing filler comprising silica or a mixture thereof with carbon black, a silica dispersing aid comprising about 0.1 to about 15 phr poly(vinyl acetate) (PVA), and a cure agent. The addition of PVA to the composition improves the processability of the compound, improves the tear strength and modulus of the rubber and can reduce the number of mixing stages during compounding, resulting in lowering of the cost of operation and increasing plant productivity without compromising the processability or other physical properties of the stocks. Also provided are a vulcanizate formed from vulcanizing the rubber composition, a tire component formed from the vulcanized rubber and a process for forming the tire component.
