    • An information processing system retains one or more files utilized by an external apparatus, each of which is made up of a plurality of chunks, in a manner that the chunks making up each of the files are distributed. The information processing system includes a plurality of chunk servers, each storing chunks, and one master server communicatively coupled thereto. The master server retains a file name of a file, chunk IDs indicating chunks making up the file, and chunk IDs indicating chunk servers storing the chunks. When a snapshot taking request for a file is received, the master server identifies chunks included in the file from the file name and the chunk IDs to instruct the chunk servers having these chunks to take a differential snapshot of each of the chunks with the use of a differential snapshot function included in a local file system of each of the chunk servers.

The storage controller 2600 calculates an ideal utilization 3502 for each user, from the storage cost coefficients 3202 and the user cost distribution information 3402, and allocates, for each user, the ideal utilization 3502 to each of the storage apparatuses 1100, 1200 and 1300, in the order of the performance capabilities from highest to lowest.

    • In a file server for suppressing power consumption of a storage apparatus, when a file sharing program receives a file access from a client, the program references a mapping table. The program addresses the access to the target file in the volume of a RAID group where the target file is stored. A coupling-request reception program memorizes a coupling time for each user into a coupling history table. A grouping program applies a grouping to users whose coupling time-zones are similar. A data transfer program transfers, into the same RAID group, data of the files associated with the grouped users, thereby collecting the data into the same RAID group. Thus, the time-zone when no access is made to the RAID group (i.e., non-coupling time-zone) can be made longer. Accordingly, a spin-up/down request program makes a spin-down request to the RAID group in the non-coupling time-zone.

    • In a light chamber formed by a housing case and a lens cover placed at a front part (which is open) of the housing case in a headlamp assembly, a projection lens, a shade and a light source are arranged in order from the front side of the light chamber along an optical axis of the light source. A reflector for reflecting light emitted from the light source is placed at a position which is opposite to the light source. A radiating member is composed of radiating fins of a plate shape vertically placed in the light chamber, and radiates heat energy generated by the light source to surrounding air. A control plate surrounds and crosses at a right angle to the radiating fins in the light chamber. The control plate has a size of suppressing air-convection around the radiating fins and is fixed to the housing case through poles.
