摘要： An aerosolization apparatus comprises a container containing a pharmaceutical formulation, the pharmaceutical formulation comprising an active agent and a propellant. The aerosolization apparatus further comprises a metering chamber in communication with the container, the metering chamber adapted to hold a metered amount of the pharmaceutical formulation, a valve to allow the metered amount of the pharmaceutical formulation to be released from the metering chamber when the valve is actuated, and a pressurizer that applies pressure to the pharmaceutical formulation in the metering chamber while the pharmaceutical formulation is being released from the metering chamber. In one version, the metering chamber is sized so that at least 2 mg, and preferably at least 5 mg, of the active agent is be aerosolized for delivery to a user during inhalation.

An access end of an extraction tube is inserted into the cavity, and an inlet opening is formed in the receptacle. 摘要： A bearing arrangement to reduce the effects of thermal expansion in a marine transmission includes a pinion gear thrust bearing, a clutch shaft thrust bearing, a shaft roller bearing and a thrust washer. The clutch shaft thrust bearing is retained on one end of a clutch shaft and the shaft roller bearing is retained on the other end of the clutch shaft. A pinion gear is rotatably retained on the clutch shaft. The pinion gear thrust bearing is retained on the pinion gear with a bearing retainer. The thrust washer is retained on the bearing retainer. An end of the clutch shaft thrust bearing rotates relative to the thrust washer and makes contact therewith. The length of thermal expansion in the transmission housing is limited to the distance between the opposing ends of the two thrust bearings.

摘要： The use of rare-earth (REO, N, P) based materials to covert long wavelength photons to shorter wavelength photons that can be absorbed in a photovoltaic device (up-conversion) and (REO, N, P) materials which can absorb a short wavelength photon and re-emit one (downshifting) or more longer wavelength photons is disclosed. The wide spectral range of sunlight overlaps with a multitude of energy transitions in rare-earth materials, thus offering multiple up-conversion pathways. The refractive index contrast of rare-earth materials with silicon enables a DBR with >90% peak reflectivity and a stop band greater than 150 nm.

摘要： The present teachings describe methods for selecting informative genetic markers including single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) that may be used in the design and execution of genome wide association studies. These methods are distinguished from other methods relying on a predefined haplotype block structure and may be configured to make use of correlations that occur across neighboring haplotype blocks. The disclosed methods may further be implemented across chromosomal regions having both high and low local linkage disequilibrium. Informative genetic marker selection, as described, provides an alternative and potentially more efficient mechanism to select genetic markers such as SNPs using block-based and random approaches.
