The system may have a support assembly coupled to a rotatable wheel of the pottery wheel, and a template holder that holds a template relative to the wheel. The support assembly may have a rotary coupling to which the template holder is coupled; thus, the template holder may be used to keep the template stationary as the wheel, workpiece, and support assembly rotate. The template may be used for jiggering and/or jollying, and may have a plate with a shaping surface that contacts the workpiece during relative rotation to provide the desired contour. The template may have a plate that is insertable into a slot of the template; the template may be retained by the template holder at multiple displacements from the rotatable wheel.

摘要： The present invention is directed to an apparatus for forming a decorative impression in a moldable material and a method of manufacturing the same. Specifically, a preferred embodiment of the present invention is directed to stamping tool for forming decorative patterns in concrete. The stamping tool includes a multi-layered flexible base including first, second and third layers. The first, second and third layers each include an upper and a lower surface. The second layer is positioned intermediate, the first and third layers. The lower surface of the third layer has a predetermined pattern formed therein for forming a corresponding impression in the moldable material. A pair of closed looped handles are secured to the base for permitting the tool to be readily transported from one location to another. The handles include a substantially concave segment disposed above the base and a substantially convex segment embedded therein. The first and second layers each include raised portions adjacent each of the handles for rigidly securing the handles to the base. The second layer has a color different from the first and third layers thereby permitting an individual to readily determine whether the tool has been properly formed from a visual inspection thereof.

The tool which consists of a flat inflexible rectangular plate shaped such that shorter leading and trailing edge curve upward, and one of the longer edges has a central portion curving outward and downward, and with the length of the right and left non-curving portion of the edge being the same as the leading and trailing edges. With this configuration, the mason slides the tool along the edge of the cement surface and reaches an intersecting interior corner, the tool is lifted and run along the adjacent edge until corner is reached. The tool permits a mason less skilled in the mason art to execute the interior corners of a cementious surface without surface blemishes or groove marks.

摘要： A method for forming non-repeating stone pattern in fresh concrete including preparing the surface of the fresh concrete by bullfloating and the addition of color, if desired, imprinting into the fresh concrete indentations representative of the corners only of the stones in the pattern, imprinting separately connecting grooves between the imprinted corners. The method may further include the use of a plastic overlay on the fresh concrete prior to imprinting so as to provide a well rounded edge to the formed stones. A number of tools for forming the nonrepeating patterns are also disclosed. One of such tools is a walking tool including a flat platform having a plurality of apertures, a shaft rotatably extended through each aperture, a hub on each shaft below the platform on which the platform rests, a flange on each shaft engaging the top of the platform, a plurality of imprinting blades extending from each hub to form a group, the top of each shaft having an anvil head to be pounded, and at least one of said apertures being elongated to render one group of blades both rotatably and laterally adjustable for varying the stone patterns to be imprinted in fresh concrete. Other tools suitable for use with the method include an individual group of blades arranged in the form of the corners of the stone to be imprinted, together with a striking area by which the blades can be pounded into the surface of the fresh concrete.
