    • A substrate transfer apparatus has pluralities of pairs of substrate support mechanisms. The substrate support mechanism includes a first roller provided on a first rotary shaft and a second roller provided on a second rotary shaft, the substrate support mechanism transfers a substrate in a transfer direction while supporting the substrate between the first and second rollers in a thickness direction of the substrate. The pair of the substrate support mechanisms are disposed so as to oppose to each other in a width direction of the substrate and the pairs of the substrate support mechanisms are arranged along with the transfer direction. Further, a substrate position regulating member that regulates a position of the substrate by contacting with a side surface which is parallel to the transfer direction is provided on either of the first and second rotary shafts.

    • In an automatic document feeder for use in combination with an electrophotographic copying machine for feeding documents successively into the copying machine by separating and feeding the documents one by one from a stack of documents, the stacked documents are placed on a document table and are fed by a pair of rollers into a nip portion between a rotating separation roller and a separation plate having a rubber sheet applied thereto to separate and feed documents one by one from the lowermost one, and an edge detecting sensor for detecting a front edge of a document is arranged downstream with respect to the separation roller to produce an edge detection signal. When the edge detection signal is produced, the relevant document is once stopped at the front edge detecting sensor and after a start signal for denoting the completion of a copying operation for the preceding document is supplied from the copying machine, the relevant document standing by the front edge detecting sensor is advanced. An opening for manually inserting a document is provided at a downstream position with respect to the front edge detecting sensor and a rotatable lid is provided above the opening.

    • A light measuring apparatus comprising a photoelectric element exposed to incident light and coupled to a plurality of parallel-connected capacitors which integrate the photoelectric current output from the element. Control means successively switch each of the capacitors in parallel as the photoelectric current charges a first previously switched capacitors in accordance with the voltage integrated on the capacitors as sensed by a comparator. After a predetermined time, the parallel charged capacitors are discharged through a constant current source, with the discharge time being digitally monitored to produce a digital output proportional to the incident light level.
