    • PURPOSE: An electric power conversion apparatus in an energy harvesting system and a method thereof are provided to obtain maximum power from a number of energy sources, by adjusting load impedance in a connection structure between source terminals selected by using electric characteristics values of each source or between the source terminal and a gathering terminal. CONSTITUTION: A central control unit (300) calculates serial and parallel combination by using an electric characteristics value of each source terminal connected to a plurality of energy sources as an input parameter. A power synthesis unit (100) measures the electric characteristics value of an individual source terminal among the plurality of source terminals and then transfers the electric characteristics value to the central control unit. The power synthesis unit connects each source terminal in serial or parallel combination according to the calculated serial/parallel combination result, and matches impedance between a load terminal and the source terminal connected in serial or parallel. A voltage conversion unit (200) generates a power source voltage by converting a power signal gathered in the power synthesis unit.     • PURPOSE: A fuel cell stack is provided to prevent damage to other unit cells in case of an electrical short or defects in the unit cells, and to prevent and minimize performance degradation of the entire fuel cell stack. CONSTITUTION: A fuel cell stack comprises: a first bundle comprising unit cells(C11,C12,C13) which are electrically connected to each other side-by-side; a current collecting element(11) which is electrically connected to one unit cell in the first bundle; connection type resistance member(IR11,IR12,IR13) which is connected to at least one unit cell in series for preventing current in at least one unit cell; and a first bypass resistance pass(BR1) which is electrically connected to the unit cell of the first bundle side-by-side. The bypass resistance pass has a resistance value larger than respective ohmic polarization of the unit cells in the first bundle.
