    • PURPOSE: A method for attaching an optical waveguide element onto a printed circuit board is provided to improve the flatness by attaching the optical waveguide element onto the printed circuit board using an adhesive tape. CONSTITUTION: A dry film(13) is applied onto a copper thin film layer(12) on an upper surface of a printed circuit board(10). The copper thin film layer(12) is exposed by exposing the dry film(13) to a light and dipping the printed circuit board(10) being exposed. Then, the printed circuit board(10) is etched to remove an unnecessary portion of the copper thin film layer(12), so that a groove(15) is formed on the copper thin film layer(12). An optical waveguide element is to be inserted into the groove(15). The optical waveguide element is attached onto the groove(15) by interposing an adhesive tape and applying a hot press.
