    • An apparatus for constructing an FTTH(Fiber-To-The Home) cable TV network and a signal processing method therefor are provided to enable an ONU(Optical Network Unit) to convert downlink data received from an SO into an optical signal and transmit the optical signal to an optical cable and enable an optical cable modem to receive the downlink data of the optical signal from the ONU and convert the optical signal into an electric signal, thereby controlling the quality of a signal on an optical line to improve the wire network structure of an FTTH type on the cable TV network. A downlink transmitting unit(501) comprises an EO(Electric to Optic) conversion unit(510), a voltage control unit(515), a signal equalization unit(520), a RF(Radio Frequency) signal amplifying unit(525), a RF multiplexing unit(528), an OE (Optic to Electric)(533), and an optical signal amplifying unit(535). An uplink transmitting unit(536) comprises an OE conversion unit(537), a network optical port control module(538), a QPSK/QAM(Quadrature Phase Shift Keying/Quadrature Amplitude Modulation) modulation unit(540), a signal amplifying unit(550), a signal equalization unit(555), a low frequency filter(560), and an EO conversion unit(565). The OE conversion unit converts an optical signal received from an SO(System Operator) into an electric RF signal of 50MHz to 780MHz frequency bandwidth. The EO conversion unit converts a downlink signal and a control signal multiplexed in the RF multiplexing unit into optical signals.

    • PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for switching a digital broadcast channel by using a VCC(Virtual Channel Connection) information, particularly for switching a channel quickly and smoothly by VCC, are provided to reduce a size of a switch by selecting a channel of each VCC before inputting to a terminal switch. CONSTITUTION: When an ONU(Optical Network Unit) receives broadcast data of an SDH(Synchronous Digital Hierarchy) format(401), it converts the data into an ATM format and classifies the converted ATM cell by VCC(402). The ONU transmits channel information of each VCC to a controller to automatically update broadcast channel information, and transmits channel data of each VCC to a PID(Program ID) analyzer(403). The PID analyzer extracts PID information of broadcast channels included in the channel data of each VCC, receives information on a broadcast channel desired by a subscriber from the controller, and inputs only broadcast channel data corresponding to the broadcast channel information desired by the subscriber of the extracted PID information(404), so that desired channel can be transmitted by subscribers(405).
