    • PURPOSE: A transmitting and receiving device for canceling RFI(Radio Frequency Interference) in a VDSL(Very high data rate Digital Subscriber Line) and a method therefor are provided to cancel the RFI between a frequency band of wireless communication and a frequency band of a VDSL system by judging an information value and an initial reference value detected in an ANF-I(Adaptive Notch Filter-Ingress) of a receiving terminal, providing information to a transmitting terminal when interference is generated in a telephone line, canceling a corresponding frequency band signal, and transmitting a frequency signal in the transmitting terminal. CONSTITUTION: A receiving terminal(220R) has an ANF-I(220R-1) and an RFI confirming unit(220R-2). The ANF-I(220R-1) filters a frequency signal transmitted from a transmitting terminal(200T). The RFI confirming unit(220R-2) compares a reference value stored in a table of the RFI confirming unit(220R-2) with the output of the ANF-I(220R-1), detects a frequency band in which interference occurs in a telephone line(210), and transmits information of the detected frequency band to the transmitting terminal(200T). The transmitting terminal(200T) has a switch(200T-1), an ANF-E(Egress)(200T-3) and a control unit(200T-2). The switch(200T-1) switches a frequency signal to be transmitted. The ANF-E(Egress)(200T-3) filters the frequency signal inputted through the switch(200T-1). The control unit(200T-2) controls the switch(200T-1) on the basis of frequency band information transmitted from the receiving terminal(220R) so that a signal to be transmitted is inputted in the ANF-E(200T-3). The control unit(200T-2) controls the ANF-E(200T-3) to cancel the frequency band in which the interference occurs and transmit the frequency signal.

    • PURPOSE: A method for detecting peak type noise by section division is provided so that an effect to detect peak typed noises can be achieved by dividing each frame into piecewise sections through multi-steps after firstly dividing audio signal into frames having a predetermined number of sample, comparing maximum value of each section with maximum value of adjacent sections, and detecting whether the peak typed noise exists. CONSTITUTION: A method for detecting peak typed noise by section division includes several steps. A first step is to high-pass filtering input signals(S1). A second step is to divide the high-pass filtered signals by frame unit(S2). A third step is to search for maximum value of each section(S3). A fourth step is to multiply calculated value of the current section(K) by a threshold ratio(S4). A fifth step is to compare the calculated value of the current section with maximum values of adjacent sections(K-1 section and K+1 section)(S5). In the sixth step, if the calculated value is larger than maximum values of adjacent sections, it is judged that there is peak typed noises in the current section(S7). If any of maximum values of adjacent sections is larger than the calculated value of the current section or the same as the calculated value of the current section, it is judged that there is not peak typed noises in the current section(S8).

The operations of mitigating radio frequency (RF) interference in a multicarrier modulation system is obtaining frequency domain data associated with a frequency band; identifying a restricted frequency sub-band within the frequency band; estimating a frequency of the RF interference within the restricted frequency subband; estimating the RF interference in accordance with a frequency domain model for the RF interference and the estimated frequency of the RF interference; and thereafter removing the estimated RF interference from the frequency domain data. A receiver for a multicarrier modulation system comprises an analog-to-digital (A/D) converter, a multicarrier demodulator operatively connected to the A/D converter, and a digital RF interference canceller operatively coupled to the multicarrier demodulator.
