    • In a longitudinally coupled resonator type surface acoustic wave filter device having a serially weighted IDT, a structure for reducing ripple in the passband is provided. The longitudinally coupled resonator type surface acoustic wave filter device includes at least one of a metallization ratio decreasing means and a metallization ratio increasing means. The metallization ratio decreasing means is provided on a first acoustic track so as to reduce, at least in the one part where the serial weighting is performed, the difference between the metallization ratio of the first acoustic track passing through a link portion (116c) of the dummy electrode (116) and the metallization ratios of second and third acoustic tracks located on both sides in the acoustic wave propagation direction of the first acoustic track. The metallization ratio increasing means is provided on the second acoustic track.

    • There is provided an elastic wave filter device having balance/non-balance conversion function and having a large impedance conversion function. The elastic surface wave filter device (1) includes a non-balance terminal (3), a first and a second balance terminal (4, 5), and IDT (14-16). On end of the IDT (14, 16) is connected to the non-balance terminal (3). The central IDT (15) has a first and a second divided IDT unit (15a, 15b) divided in the surface wave propagation direction. The first and the second divided IDT unit (15a, 15b) have re-divided IDT units (15a1, 15a2, 15b1, 15b2) divided in the intersection width direction, respectively. The first and the second divided IDT unit (15a, 15b) are electrically connected in series. The first and the second re-divided IDT units (15a1, 15a2) and the first and the second re-divided IDT units (15b1, 15b2) are electrically connected in series. The second re-divided IDT units (15a2, 15b2) are connected to the first and the second balance terminals (4, 5), respectively.

    • PURPOSE: A SAW(Surface Acoustic Wave) resonator for reducing size and loss, a SAW filter, and a SAW antenna duplexer using the same are provided to reduce the size by eliminating need for a common bus-bar electrode. CONSTITUTION: A SAW resonator includes a piezoelectric substrate(11), an interdigital transducer electrode(13), and a reflector electrode(14). The interdigital transducer electrode is formed on the piezoelectric substrate. A reflector electrode is disposed nearly to the interdigital transducer electrode. The interdigital transducer electrode includes a plurality of first finger-electrodes(132), a plurality of second finger-electrodes(134), and a plurality of strip-line electrodes(135). The first finger-electrodes and the second finger-electrodes do not overlap with each other, but are acoustically coupled together by the strip-line electrodes.

    • PURPOSE: A surface acoustic wave filter and a communication apparatus are provided to improve a balancing degree of a balance signal and reduce insertion loss by reducing unbalance between a left side and a right side. CONSTITUTION: The IDT(2) includes an IDT electrode(4) and an IDT electrode(5) arranged in the direction of propagation of a surface-acoustic wave, and a serial junction(14) which is also an IDT electrode. The IDT electrode(4) and the IDT electrode(5) are electrically serially connected to each other through the serial junction(14). The terminal of the IDT electrode(4), not connected to the serial junction(14), becomes a balanced signal terminal(10). The terminal of the IDT electrode(5), not connected to the serial junction(14), becomes a balanced terminal(11). The IDT(2) includes the outermost electrode fingers(15,16), connected to the serial junction(14). In the first preferred embodiment, the electrode fingers(15,16) are connected to ground electrodes of the IDT(1) and the IDT(3), respectively. In the IDTs(1, 2, 3), IDT electrode fingers respectively connected to the balanced signal terminals(10,11), and the unbalanced signal terminal(13) are referred to as signal electrode fingers, and IDT electrode fingers, which are grounded, are referred to as ground electrode fingers.
