    • The present invention relates to a device and a method for detecting a foreign material in a wireless power transmitting system. The wireless power transmitting system comprises a primary core block which is combined with a secondary core block mounted in a wireless power receiving device by magnetic induction or magnetic resonance to transmit wireless power to the wireless power receiving device; an electric driving unit which is connected to the primary core block to supply an AC signal required for the primary core block to transmit wireless power; a control unit which is connected to the electric driving unit and generates a control signal to control the AC signal; and a current measuring unit which is connected to the electric driving unit and measures a current flowing the control unit which generates the control signal controlling the AC signal and primary core block, and acquires a current measuring value to convert the current to a proper numerical value to be interpreted by the control unit, thereby recognizing for itself a foreign material interfered between the wireless power transmitting device and the wireless power receiving device without a help of the wireless power receiving device, and allowing a user to suspend wireless power transmission or remove the foreign material when the foreign material is detected.
